Gerald, look no further. You want help with your gauges I would love to help you. I'm far from an expert but I am anal enough that if something isn't just perfect, I'm not happy. Mine look great and perform excellent. Took me about 6 hours to put all three in but it's worth it. I would like to Dyno mine. I already talked to Mike about it. I have this fear of the truck being thrashed during this process. I really do baby the living crap out of mine. But I put the VA 3. 1 on and want to know if I got my money's worth. If anyone can enlighten me to the dyno process, I'd appreciate it. I am a little feared... ..... Gerald PM me if you want the help. I'll check back here in the A. M.
 
Dave, the dyno process is pretty simple and doesn't put as much a load on your engine as a full throttle run on the highway would. He runs it up thru the gears until it's in high gear then runs it there for a while under a small load to make sure everything is warmed up good. Then he slowly lets it coast down to about 50mph in high gear or 1,200 rpm, then pours the coals to it until it runs against the governer, about 3,400 rpm, only takes a few seconds. Then he idles it down for a while to let everything cool and normalize, and that's it. The computer spits out the horsepower and torque figure, he prints it out and you walk away smiling. Your pickup will be just fine.

Dynojets are very easy on the vehicle to get its info. And it helps with the owner of the equipment who has dynoed 100's-1000's ??? of times in control of the process and in the drivers seat. This is particularily true with Auto trucks. The only thing that freaks you out is standing a few feet from your truck when it is at WOT and going over 100 mph. And if you get carried away with a gear-vendor overdrive or 4 GSKs in a 12V the speeds approach 150 mph.



If sure is cool to have a baseline (prior to any fuel enhancments) dyno before you start adding "stuff". I don't, but atleast have one from every change.



As long as the weather doesn't mess things up, this will be a fun get together. Keep spreading the word as many Dakotan's/Minnesotan's with diesels do not read this.
