The MIL came on two days ago. I was a little long in changing the fuel filter, so I did that.

I got P0191 and a P0088 codes. The engine sounds like heck when it starts, but runs OK otherwise.

I don't want to take it to the dealer, but I might have to. The truck has 104k on it.

FCA is a worthy shot in the dark. What's the OP's mechanical ability?

Check all wiring harness connections on the FCA, fuel rail pressure sensor, etc. before diving in to an FCA. I had harness issues with my '07 at one point that caused all sorts of problems with rail pressure spikes.

Also wouldn't hurt to throw a good dose of your fuel treatment of choice to see if you can loosen up that FCA if in fact it is the problem.

Just drop some 2 stroke oil in the tank that will loosen the FCA up if that's the problem
