What some don't share Is (1) there miles in the vh dispriction. Could we be in bare essed of our failure's???
and what have we done/not done that may have caused problems???
Did we notice the miss spelling???
Point is -- there some set pattern's /miles/practices and ones abililaty to spot those problems, when there are simple low cost ways to "Sidestep" ways to avoid the mistakes (CB) handle.
Also there are inhearent proplems on the "name plate "that can be over come-and at low $ outlay

tdrmbr:

I don't mind at all in posting my mileage
for you. Right now it is approximately
17. 6 MPG around town and 18. 2 when I am
on the highway. I am over 350 H. P. so I
am satisfied with that considering I also
have the "370 Diamond B Injectors. "

That is down about 6/10ths of a gallon
from what I used to get when the truck
was stock. However, I NEVER have gotten
the 20+ MPG I see from other members on
this truck. My old 92'(160 H. P. ) auto
used to get 20 though. I also have a
"heavy foot" now.

17mpg for a low on winter blend and best of 25mpg on #2. Pulling my car trailer drops me to about 18-19mpg. No complaints here since I got 12mpg with my gasser all the time, without near the power I have now:)

OK... my most recent fill-up was after 550 miles of 110 miles of highway and the balance city driving... I got 21. 23mpg. Is usually right at 20.

I think what tdrmbramr is suggesting is odometer reading, not mpg.

I curently have 108k pluse okn my 95 12 valve Before mods I got 21 pluse mpg stock with the auto on strickly highway driving. 18 to 19 mpg in town. With the mods I have now I get 19 to 20 on the highway solo and 13 to 14 towing a 26 foot travel trailer with a slide out. Im happy with the power and would not go back to total stock just for the milage (unless diesel gets up to $4. 00 a gallon) then I may have to reconsider. See my sig. for modifications.

milage

I began checking fuel use mileage when my 97 2500 when it was new and have maintained a spread sheet ever sense. The SS averages the last three fill-ups/odometer readings. (spot checks of single tank mileage don't mean much). Stock (solo - highway) operating ( I have a very heavy foot) got 19. 5 to 21 mpg. Then added TST (235 hp) upgrade / Sun Coast low stall converter. Fuel consumption after modification is a matter of how it's driven. If I push it and take advantage of the added power solo mileage drops to 18/20 mpg (keep in mind the heavy foot ). There is no data to prove this but my feeling is that my truck would average 21 mpg highway/small town driving if driven carefully.

There is no simple answer to towing mileage. Hook up an eight thousand pound trailer and pull it on the level ground of south Texas -- drive like grandpa (ease away from every stop and never exceed 60/62 mph) I gotta think my truck could do 14. 5 / 15 mpg. Come on up here in east Texas (we got hills here) and push the speed to 60/65 and the mileage drops to 12/13. 5... Push the speed to 70 and the mileage drops to 11/11. 5... Go on out to New Mexico and run the hills at 70-75 mph and mileage drops to 10/10. 5. Move up into the mountains seven to eleven thousand feet (and slow down to 30 to 55 mph) mileage will run 9. 8/10. 5 (measured) mpg.

If you don't have a boost pressure and exhaust temperature gauge and you care about your engine and/or mileage get them. Start watching them, especially when you are towing. There is alot to be learned from what they tell you.

Of all the modifications to my truck, boost pressure, exhaust temp. (before the turbo) and automatic transmission temperature gauges are the most valuable.

I usually get 23mpg on the open road at 59mph on cruise. The best thing I like is when I tow my fifth wheel (30' Newmar) I usually average 15. 3. I've had alot of people say this is B ll Sh t but I have the figures to back it up !!

The truck has 96,000 on it.

78000 miles. Mods are in my signature. I've blown two head gaskets from A. Running a 12 cm housing not wastegated with over 400 hp, and B. Carboning of the piston tops causing compression ratio to increase. All else is well. Been over 400 hp since 3000 miles. 17 mpg unloaded and 15 mpg with the trailer. I could probably do better, but I can't keep the right foot out of it for an entire tankful.

Milage Posted in discription SPeedo/odometer reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mpg's i figure mine by month/quarter--mostly use yearleyIf we want to get tec the only True mpg, SAE approvied test way is over the same course, load ,min two runs,20-30 miles per round Here's the true accounting,BY fuel weight, corrected for temp Not gal's pumped into the veh's on board tank. Which requires riging up quick disconnects, And should be over three days, head wind /tail/side/????

I ve done one for a major tire maker testing against three other brands ,Bet you cant guess who came out on top. One blessing was i didn't have to chang all those tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to get just over 20 mpg until I replaced the tires with Michlen's. Now I can't get it over 20, usually around 19. In the winter it drops to around 18+/-. I check milage on each tank since my fuel gauge don't work and I need to be assured that I am getting the same milage. I have a book with a years worth of numbers to look at. I used to figure 700 miles per tank, now I stick to 600 just to be safe. Stock 2500, auto, 107,000 miles and a mix of city and highway. WHen I pull my boat I get about 16-17 mpg.
