Hi, first off thanks for all the great info available on this site, this is my second turbo diesel truck. Had a 1990 first gen that I ran for 9 yrs completly stock and then bought this 1999 new that I ran for 120k miles stock and just completed the below mods.
Last night ran the truck empty on the highway;
265 miles
2000 rpm, mostly on cruise
72 mph
28 f outside temp
20. 5 mpg
This is very close to the stock mpg figures that i've had, the truck performes well beyond its stock configuration and should be every bit as reliable. Looking forward to towing with it soon.
