What's the best way to get it off? Just puller 'er out and scrubbed, but can't get the mildew/mold off. Who ever thought there'd be mildew in Nevada? It's a flippin' desert!

Sure stinks when you 1st open it ... eh? :--)

Bleach ditto ... I use an RV brush & bucket. Scrub the pi$$ out of it, rinse, air dry & repeat.

I'll give it a shot. This is the first time that it's done this, but also the first time we've had snow and rain this much since I've had it! Thanks

1/2 cup bleach and 1/2 cup diswashing liquid in 5 gallons of warm water, saturate awning and roll it up for a couple of hours. Then roll awning out and scrub with a soft brush and rinse. Repeat if ness.

I wouldn't use bleach full strength.

Another thing that works on mildew spots is white vinegar.

It's also going to depend on what type of material that your awning is made from. I would think that the vinyl backed material will withstand the bleach a little better. I have the sunbrella kind and I would think that it would get discolored from bleach. JMHO

Bleach and dishwashing soap. Scrub it on, let it soak, then rinse while scrubbing some more. Repeat as required. Be careful to keep it out of your eyes and off of any decals or paint on the RV - that's why I never rolled my awning back up to let it soak. So, I kept it off the RV, but don't ask about my eyes!! :{ :{

I do all the above on ours - and then, while I'm at it, apply a good vinyl cleaner/protectant to keep it in good shape between cleanings - have had the same awning since '88, still good as new...

I would try Krud Kutter. Removes mildew and mold on everything else I have ever used it on. Should be safe for the awning too.
