Mileage going up....Problem??

Since new this truck has gotten between 16. 5-19mpg depending on circumstances, usually closer to 16. 5. All of a sudden (within 2 tanks) my mileage has jumped up about a mile per gallon. I checked the oil level (not dropping/rising) and the air filter (still sealed) so I have no idea where the extra mpg is coming from unless it's the diesel fairy FYI I just hit 10,000 miles about a month ago and I remember a long time ago when the 98. 5's came out people where talking about a "secret" programming change which would occur after a set mileage had been reached. . supposedly for break-in. Is this possible?

It must be a Well Kept Secret, as my 05 with 40k on it hasn't heard a word.

I no this may start **** ,but I started adding 2-sroke oil to my fuel tank around 10k and I am now getting over 1mpg better. I dont no if it is break-in or the oil but I am now getting over 1 mpg last two tanks with oil added?

Just for the heck of it; stop using the oil for a few tanks and see what happens... ...

I had that, along with the 20k program. worked great. now I get 22 empty and 17-18 towing 8k

Thats exactly what I am doing. I ran it for two tanks. 1st tank 18. 5mpg,2nd tank 17. 5 mpg. Before that I was getting 16-17 but never over 17. Now I will monitor my next two tanks with out the 2-stroke oil.
