Has anyone ever used the Big G mileage miser module by Granatelli motor sports ? I'm not looking for more power, but the extra 3 mpg would be nice. I would think my stock auto trans would handle the 50hp & 150 lbs. ft. of torque. The unit sells for 299. 99 and if works as advertised would pay for itself fairly quick. Installing on a '05 2500QC 4x4.

Thanks

Talked to them at the SEMA show alot of guys are getting at least 2 mpg. It is a money back gaurantee. What do you have to loose??

p-bar,

When you get it and try it out could you PM me and tell me what your impressions are? It's funny I just asked almost the same thing in the 3rd Gen forum today.

One response said that it was a re-badged Quad box. I was told it was a duration/timing box. Sure would be nice to know. Thanks and good luck!

Just left a reply on the other thread. I own the Quad box and it did worse than stock , interesting on the rebadging theory. G told me it is pressure also which makes sense because the hook ups are the same.

It's not a theory, why don't you look at your install instructions and then look at Quad's on their web site. It's the same thing. I'm surprised you missed the large Commander picture on the Granatelli site staring at you. It's called the Big G In-Cab Monitor. Rebadging in the auto aftermarket is very common. There is nothing wrong with it at all it's just it is what it is. Either way you can't go wrong because Quad makes some very nice products.

If you watch your overhead you will likely pick up a gain in mileage but hand calc may tell a different story.

Maybe one of you guys could report your findings.

Never looked at the G website or compared the install instructions, some of you have more time than I do. Well time will tell

thinking of buying one, but sure don't want that big goofy G hangin on my dash, that'll have to be ziptied up behind the dash for sure.

Well, that's what the forum is for so that people can do the investigation for you. That way hopefully nobody just buys stuff because an ad in the magazine says it to be true. ;) Sometimes if I don't have the time to investigate a claim thouroughly I like to read about what other people found out about the product before I just buy it and hope for the best.

A report on the actual mileage gain hand calulated may go along way as it doesn't seem like anyone so far has tried one yet so this could be the research that would be needed to steer other people in the right direction.

Here's what I came up with : topped off and drove about 100 mi, topped off again and drove 256 miles put in 19. 9 gal spent alot of time topping off to be accurate. Overhead showed 18. 1 , the box screws it up hand cacl 12. 86 mpg . Guess I'll be sending this back. Results may vary so don't give up.
