Mileage Reading

The mileage reading for your truck is held in the ECM not in the electronics of the dash --- Correct.

I believe the mileage is stored in the speedometer/instrument assembly. I had a 2012 Ram 1500 that had an instrument lighting issue (leds). The only way to fix was replace the whole assembly. The dealer had to supply the mileage to have the repair company put into the new instrument panel assy. One thing they didn't update was the hour meters.
