I think that in the name of science, you should press on! You will be conducting an experiment, driving your truck and having a good time. From 92-96, I flew Tactics Development and Evaluation in the B-1B at Ellsworth AFB, SD. My fellow aviators always said, what ever we did was "In the name of science". Of course, we did get a bit carried away at times with our perceived, or lack of, scientific skill. However, some of us did carry that attitude over in to our fishing when we tried a new lure!!!! Needless to say, we had some fun with it!!

Research we need more INPUT!

Look - while we're not running a scientific study that can be peer reviewed - I think, if we want to see a real comparisson - I'd like to see somebody travel with you - in a separate rig that will duplicate your speed and driving habits as well as all the weather conditions - wind, humidty and all the other stuff that can make one of the legs different than the other. This would allow us to check each's mileage as well as the difference. Maybe we can find a volunteer.....

i cant seem to get great milege out of my truck... i have 4. 10s its obnioxious that i cant drive at 75 and get decent mileage. aroudn town i get about 17 adn on the highway i get a little over 18.

There will be variations from rigs of the same year and model though. I am in though. In fact I'd be willing to drive from Atlanta anywhere to check some mileage variable.

YES YES now you are with me. ITS FUN! I mean I love driving my truck and I do the Mileage test becuase they ARE FUN! People cannot get that concept. Once I did a run home where I drove very slow like 50 and I got 26. 5 and it was just cool listening to my engine and purring along People flipped out when I posted that. You would have thought I threw a drink in their face! They just dont get it. They are in the rat race and they need to just get in their truck and go purring through the countryside and check their mileage at 30 MPH then they will be okay and feel better

One of my favoritee things to do is take my truck and go relatively slow with it for hours on end. I have had the opportunity to do that a few times a year on trips from Omaha to Denver and home. Instead of the interstate, I take US 30 across Nebraska. Of course, I get the opportunity to watch numerous trains on the Union Pacific on the trip, but that is another story about another passion! I always drive US 30 at about 60 mph and I always get my best MPG on those trips. My best thus far is right at 22 MPG. I can't do that right now, as I am in Korea until February and my truck is still in Nebraska!!!

Have Fun,
