Any 24 valvers with a Goerend single disc?....

Newer EZs more powerful than older ones?

What is a average number for a 2001 4x4, 6 speed, fuel mileage as I have heard of poor mileage. My 95 usually give me 19. 5 or so Can a 24 valve truck give good mileage? Thanks jimk

My 99 Quad Cab 4X4 auto with 3. 54 gears gets from 20-22 mpg on the good summer fuel. I lose about 2 mpg during the winter.

My 01 HO 2X4 gets around 19 at 70MPH in the summer. If I take off my box cap (High back model) it goes up 1. 5MPG or more. those numbers were taken last summer when my truck was completely stock. I think I'm getting better numbers now but no hard facts to prove it.

I get over 20MPG driving mostly long distance interstate trips.

Empty that is; loaded with the trailer - I am lucky to get over 10MPG!

Ditto to csaba. I have gotten 18. 5 mpg empty on long trips, but I hardly ever burn a whole tank of fuel now without pulling a trailer hauling cattle, hay or whatever. I am lucky to see 13 or 14 under these conditions and haven't been able to check my empty mpg for quite a while now. I have gotten under 10 pulling very heavy with lots of stop and go driving conditions.

As with anything, it really depends on your driving style. A heavy right foot yeilds less mpg. So does towing/carrying weight in the bed, sitting in traffic, running 70 mph vs 75 vs 80, etc.

FWIW, my 01 5spd 4x4 QC SB with 3. 54 gears averages 17. 5-18. 5, depending on traffic, running empty as a daily commuter. Houston traffic, Edge Comp set to 1x5, 295/75/16 tires, tonneau cover, and about 300#'s of aftermarket bumpers all contribute to that number.

So does air pressure in the tires. I run mine at 55 front, 50 rear with no wear problems.

Hope this helps.
