Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Miles Per Gallon

I filled up the other day and was only able to put 26gal in the tank. The mileage read 495. Thought that was pretty good. Got home and figured it out to just over 19 miles per gallon. Happy, happy, happy. The only mods I have are straight exhaust and a BHAF. The pipe size is the same as the stock without the muffler or cat. Most of this is in town driving. The drive to work is 11. 3 miles with the normal weekly stuff mixed in. I just replaced the exhaust 2 weeks ago

i'd say that is pretty good, your truck is just starting to get hot, these diesels get better milage the hotter they are. and you are just getting to where your engine is getting hot internley.

the best milage that i ever got was 28mpg-- but then i was only going between 15& 25 mph on a dirt road that required slow driving,

just my pennys worth.

It's an Automaic too

Auto transmission and hardly any highway driving. My brother is in the Air Force in Omaha, NE, and I am planning to drive out there. That will be the real guage to what kind of mileage I am getting now.
