*I've read* that connector tubes not seating properly can cause poor fuel mileage... either from being re-used when they shouldn't have been, or from improper torqueing. I've never made the connection in my mind how this would relate to fuel mileage degradation though?
I almost said that too, but couldn't remember for sure if that was a cause-relationship with mileage loss. My crossover tubes have been in/out a bunch of times. I think when they leak, it routes moe fuel back to the tank? That would yield lower injection pressures I would guess.
Just thinking out loud here... Lower injection pressure would be less fuel burned (fuel not completely burning in cylinder)equals less power which would make the driver push harder on the throttle pedal resulting in lower MPG.
Does the truck smoke more than it did before the injector swap??
