I know a guy that was raised on money and has a little to boot , but common sense..... well could use a little. he is a real nice guy. I noticed the horses he bought for his boys were all skinned up and asked about it and here is the story. He bought a motorhome and had a horse trailer on loan to try out. on the way to a trail ride he LOST the trailer with the horses and didn't notice till he got to camp. Some one had tried to flag him down but he thought it was someone acting goofey. They backtracked, found the trailer, got a hacksaw from a local and cut the trailer apart to get the horses out and they were OK, just skinned up. :--)

I know a few horse people like that... . my ex (who is a can kicker) had an expensive horse but a POS trailer. It was in good condition though. I've heard horror stories about horses falling thru rotten floors while underway. Poor things hooves were worn down to the bone and had to be put down in the trailer. People like that should be allowed to own horses nor pull a trailer.

Quite a few years ago, I remember hearing about someone who was hauling either horses or cattle. Was pulling an old rusty bumper hitch trailer with a bad wood floor. The whole floor let go and killed all of the animals from them dragging on the road. What a way to go.

As much as I would agree that you saw one STRONG Ford, I think what you really saw was an IDIOT. A IDIOT looking for a place to wreck. Sad thing is, they usually take others with them.

Nope, wasn't an idiot, it was a horse's A$$. The biggest one was behind the steering wheel. I get PO when folks don't take the possible consequences to the stock if things go bad. Unfortunately with the advent of powerful pickups we get more and more folks around here looking for a bad accident. I'm a real grandpa when pulling a trailer loaded with my buddies. .



Its not uncommon to come around a corner and voile - a bear/moose/elk jam or touristas pulling out/stopping. I use to call driving a loaded stock truck from Gardiner to trailheads in YNP the "white knuckle express".
