I have about a pound or so of silver ore with dirt, rock etc mixed in, I have tried melting it but it won't seperate from the slag, any one got a solution? bg

It depends on whether your ore is in a copper, lead or zinc concentrate. Copper types are separated by electrolysis, lead by heat and zinc by leaching with hydrochloric acid. You need to know what type first.

All I can say is WOW. Bill since it seems like you know a lot of stuff, I need your help. How do I get my wife to let me buy a new truck? Oo.

Sorry, I don't claim to know anything about women.

I found out about extracting precious minerals years ago when I had a line on thousands of circuit boards with gold plated contacts for free. My idea was to get the gold. Had pretty good thing going until one day some of the mercury I was using for extracting the gold went down the drain and killed the City of Chico CA's sewage treatment plant. They were able to trace the mercury up the sewage lines right into my house and brought a bill for $225,000 with them. I pleaded ignorance (which was true) and they let me off the hook as long as I discontinued my operation. I did come up with 14 ounces of gold before shutting down though.
