Minimum bed rail clearance?

What is the minimum clearance between the bed rails, and the over-bed portion of a 5er? Mine is 7-8inches. Thanks in advance.

Your question should be, What is the maximum flex, twist, dip or in other words, worst maximum articulation between the truck and trailer, that I as a driver can achieve, and still look like I am in control of the situation and know what I am doing

Under absolute worst conditions, 1/8" is enough. When all is level, 8" is a good number to shoot for.

Gee, Ken, I'd never thought of it that way - heck, I guess under those conditions, 0. 001" is enough! Bedrail clearance is sorta like money, though - it's better to have too much than not enough!! :-laf
