Why Golf Is Better Than Sex ....

Anyone else watching he Tour de France?

I'm looking for a hand in rebuilding a carb and tuning for milage on this old Chubby 1/2 ton. I'll get the rebuild kit. I just have never done this before.

GF's dad gave her this old truck to replace a Ford Aspire. It runs good. But there is so much grease and so many vacuum lines under the hood. I would just like to get rid of the emissions and tune this truck. Make sure the choke works for wintertime.

If anyone has a Flowmaster for this truck, maybe some headers as well, that'd be cool.

It's a 305 3-speed auto 2wd standard cab with some rust.

Anything chorme that you guys wanna get rid of for cheap/free. Valve covers, steering wheel, what ever you have :)

Can't resist, I had an 83 with some rust, you must be missing, rockers, cab corners, floor pans... . after you do the rebuild save your pennies and get an edelbrock 600 cfm performer carburetor-ditch the quadrajunk, you'll get better mileage and better tunability-down side is it's a square bore and not a spread bore, DO NOT buy the Edelbrock Q-Jet unless you need to be emissions compliant it's to big CFM wise. I gave the square bore to a friend of mine who put it on his 460 and it screamed!! Good luck!!

Rust, yep, that's about right. . But no the cab corners, more so the door ends.

Ok, thanks on the out right new carb idea. I was looking to save mone here and not dump more then I have to in this rust bucket.

I bought a re-man Edelbrock 600 out of Jeg's back when I wanted to get my 82 running again. I just checked the price and they are about $230. The re-mans look brand new and come out of the box ready to run. All they need is a little fine tuning and your set.
