Competition Fuel used in pulling

Competition pulling with ofe...once...maybe twice?

Just bringing this one back up..... it's this weekend. I've heard of a couple wisc guys that will drive to Georgia to pull... ... this is just Minnesota... ... Both the truck and myself are gonna be weighed tonite. See how much I gotta loose to make 7200.

Josh

I weighed tonite... . 7480 with me in it, 1/4 tank of fuel, cab still full of crap etc. The only thing that I removed was the tool box.

Josh

HoleshotHolset, since you are in Madison, I would hope you can get your truck ready for our pull in Osceola, WI Sept 10th. If I can get my clutch in by then you see the my poor ole Cummins pull. :D

Well, you got a point there...

I should swipe my grandma's 1985 Chevy Sprint (pre-geo p. o. s) and enter THAT little sardine can in the pull competition. I bet I'd be best in the 1,200 pound weight class!

Since most of Josh's women need back-up cameras, Josh put one on his truck to make them feel better. What a guy!

Be nice to the women, they'll be nice to you!

At least that's what my Momma told me!

It doesn't seem to work though... .

Josh

Leaving for the pull..... now!

Josh let's tell them the race results!

Ok so I am the old guy and as new to this pulling as Josh. We

both entered as did TurboTweaker (my son who's some this before). I'd just had my transmission upgraded and engine

timed, so I was hoping I'd do ok against my son.

Track conditions: were "damp" packed class-5 gravel

Weather: 47 degrees and a good wind (damn this is May 22)

So TurboTweaker went first (actually #12 in the pulling class), 98 24 valve (stock), Auto with his BIG tires (and prior pulling experience), results 224'

Me myself and I went next (actually #14), 97 12 valve, stock tires

no pulling experience, result 223'6".

JoshPeters went third (actually #18), 97 DRW 12 valve, stock tires

no pulling experience, result 262'3"

A load of other guys showed up, quite a testiment of support

since I think the windchill was at least 37 degrees and sitting

on steel breachers 30' in the air can be hard on a person for

a few hours.

It was a gas! I know I had a great time and am thinking about

doing it again. Josh will relate his story.

Hey it was so much fun I might just do it again, but with

different tires and rims.

I had a blast! I'll definatly be hooking up again! It's amaizing how fast that sled can stop you when your crusin along. I was eyeing up the 300 foot cone thinkin I was gonna make it when that thing stopped me cold. I don't know if they have another set of spikes or what.

Right out of the hole the truck hopped a bit, so I eased out of it, back onto it and by 75feet my foot was on the floor. How do I know it was on the floor... cause my butt wasn't touching the seat anymore! :D I tried the right side of the track, cause no one else had... and well... if I knew then what I know now... . I would have drifted left instead. I'll definatly be taking my newly aquired knowlege to the track again soon. Live and learn!

Josh

PS, Dodenburg... how did you do? I didn't catch your distance on the PA. I know your "Rock Crusher" truck did well... . how did your Cummins do?

243. 6 i think someone told me, not sure. yea rockkrusher-1957 ford 390ci got 3rd for 25 bucks and trophy driven by my son john. we ran almost 600 lbs light, not enough weights to add. a chevy with built 454-claimed he had over 600 hp got 2nd. 299ft. my brother got first, very strong 460 76 ford. 312+ft. top pay out 75. 00 Just to let you guys know them three trucks are built just for pullin. as were some others there. our diesels would not pull aginst them normaly. there are other pulls comming up that has a 6500 lb and a 8000 lb class street stock. if interested go to fallsnet and then to truckpulls. let me know if interested. good time guys, lots of fun. Dave

I didn't feel to bad after watching them pull and us pull. We all did very well considering the competition we were up against. The built for pulling trucks were fun to watch, but even more fun to beat a couple! :D I knew from the start that I wasn't gonna make a full pull, but I wasn't gonna give up!

I'm hooked (pun intended)

Josh

I doubt my '98 will be ready to hook this year...

It needs a clutch, input shaft, intermediate shaft, Detroit Locker, etc.

Maybe I'll have my '94 out here by then... .

Matt

Matt... I hear your running to Muncie... . since you are already out that way... why don't you catch a ride back "home" and pick the beast up after Muncie...

:D
