Got my replacement mirror glass. I tried ordering this online, but called to get the part number and confirm. The guy at bremerton dodge was polite and gave me then number which I typed into their online system, and a totally different part came up, which is correct. So if you order one it might be a good idea to call first to get the right PN for your truck. It was only about $50 for the glass.
Replacement is pretty easy (I'm going off of memory and they come with instructions so don't take this word for word).
Center the mirror and put it all the way up. Push on the top a little and you will see two metal clips on the bottom. Push them in and then back to disengage them. You will also probably need to push each out to the side to get it to loosen up also.
Then center it up and down again, and push to the far outside. Push down on the outside and pull up on the inside and it should pop off. Then you can take off the heater element wires.
Put the wires on the new glass, and pop it back in, then pull on it a bit to check that it is really in.
Mine wasn't quite as easy as that. When I popped mine off, it was still attatched to the power pack plate and rubber grommet. I took off the grommet to see that the center ball was broken off from it's mount on the inside. It had stayed in place as the plate also pops over the motor arms inside. So I put some JB weld on the ball end where it pulled away and snapped the mirror back into the arms. Then went along with the install as normal.
