I got a friend who has a 2001 3500 slt Lariat that has the flip and tow mirrors. His has no adjustment at all, all they do is flip up. You cant adjust the glass and there is no way to adjust from inside remotely. Did they make these mirrors this way or is there something wrong with them?

Thanks. Mike

SLT Laramie (ford is lariat--- ) should have power mirrors... The control should be on the drivers door, opposite the drivers mirror on the inside. If it isnt, something is missing. I dont think they made manual tow mirrors, and definely not on the slt/laramie

good luck

The 2nd gen model with the trailer tow mirrors were manual adjustment only. The power adjusted tow mirrors came out with the 3rd gen ('03+).

I agree. A guy I work with has an '01 with flip mirrors, manual adjustment, electric was not an option.

huh... well that whoops me. . didnt know they would slap manual mirrors on a top-end truck. . owell. .

They are manual adjustment. I have the same ones and have had to have them replaced. The mechanism inside that allows them to rotate can rust in place, that is probably what happened to his also.

tp0d For give I must have lost my head there for a minute.

socal_rattler I think you are right about the rust, because you cant move the glass at all. Thanks for the info I'll pass it on to him.
