YES I DID THIS AGAIN... Broken passenger(right) heated electric towing mirror. Backed up across a small branch the thickness of my thumb caught the mirror and now it will not retain the locked position. Anyone know if this can be fixed by taking the mirror apart? Last time it was by another motorist while I was parked  , but really I can't believe how weak this mirror assembly is given the present circumstances. Were talking maybe 5 mph into twig I could snap off w/ my bare hands... Anyone have a fix other than buying a new mirror?

I backed my passenger mirror into a piller in an ungerground parking garage. Snapped it around forward and broke the glass but didn't damage the hinge mechanism. Replacing the glass mirror was very easy. I'd take the thing apart... bet you just broke off a plastic tab. Repair it with epoxy or super glue, very easy if you find the broken tab.

BTW... A trick tp strengthen a plastic repair. If using ethyl cyanoacrylate (Super Glue), glue the pieces together then pile a little bit of baking soda on any break points. Add Super Glue to the baking soda to really stregthen the bond. Of course, Epoxy, either fluid or clay like, will created a strong bond and the clay like can be used to build up the part.
