Mirror swap anyone?

My truck has the two package, but not the tow mirrors? or tow hooks? Anyway... I'm buying an enclosed trailer soon and would like the extra visability of the tow mirrors. Anybody out there interested in trading? I'm assuming it would be a simple bolt off, bolt on process. Mine are heated and power, so I would need the same for a trade.

Verify direct swap?

Can anyone verify that swapping the standard mirrors for the tow mirrors is a direct bolt-on, with no mods required? Assuming that both sets are heated and power.

Yes they are the same bolts and plugs. Did this on my 2003 cost me almost 400 bucks however. You will love the trailer mirrors. Take off the door panel use a deep 10mm socket on the bolts and the plug is buried under the sound foam use a small flat blade screw driver to loosen the plug. I strongly recommend an assistant to hold the mirror but I am glad I didn't have to go at it alone.

Anyone live near Chicago interested in this type of swap? This would avoid shipping and being without mirrors for a few days.



PGiannetto is in Cali, so if anyone close to him would want to swap standards for tow mirrors, it would be easier all around.

I would do the swap and live without your mirrors for a week or so Like I said they cost 400. 00 with tax if he is willing for a straight trade go for it the trailer mirrors are usually a prize on ebay and the standard mirrors are lucky to get any bids. Good Luck!

Just wanted to send out a big thanks to Phillip and the TDR. We swapped out our mirrors on Tuesday, took us about 30 minutes. The door panels don't have those stupid clips that they used to have in both the 2nd and 1st generations which was nice. I didn't expect to be in a 3rd generation just yet, but when I did, I missed the towing mirrors I had on my 02 and the ones I installed on my 95. Once again, thanks a bunch to Phillip, if you ever need anything you know how to get ahold of me.

Same here. I have a 23 ft travel trailer, and the stock mirrors just dont cut it. Dealer wants $345 for the flip down heated towing mirrors. I'd love to swap with someone, and would pay shipping plus $100.

Anybody else interested?
