2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Mirrors

Does anyone know if the mirrors off a 2001 will fit on a 97 truck? Will the wiring harness just plug in and work? My 97 has power mirrors and the ones I want to buy are power/heated off an 01. I was led to believe that was the case but want to confirm for sure before buying the mirrors off the newer truck to replace my broken one.

From reading other posts, I think they said the connectors are different, but they will bolt up the same.

Does that mean I just have to rewire them into an old style connector and I'm all good??

I believe you will have to cut and splice the wires.

The color coding (at least to some extent) is different, and the connectors will not mate up from the '01 power mirror wiring to the '97 mirrors. However, a little research or experimentation can net the results you desire. The mounts are the same... '94 through '02 2500/3500.

Thanks for the replies!! I am going to get them and between MDKRAM and myself I am sure they will be functional in no time at all since they will bolt up!! Electrical is simply a detail

Cold diesel, did you get the mirrors working? Did you put a seperate switch for the heaters and did you use any kind of timer? thanks, Ron

Actually..... I sold the truck with the broken mirror and bought an 03. Problem solved :-laf Sorry I couldn't be of more help but it would not have been hard to make it work.
