2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Mirrors

A two part question. Has anyone tried to install the black streamlined mirrors off of a 98 as a replacement for the chrome ones on a 97 sport? And, if they were the heated variety and your 97 did not have heated mirrors (not sure if they were even available) were you able to get the heated portion to work - and how?

they will work... you will have to experiment with the 3 colored wires, and the 2 black wires are fro the heater... it does not matter which wire goes to the positive. yes it will work, you need to provide your own switch for the heaters though. . I put the '03 power/heated towing mirrors on mine, and love them!! good luck!

Thanks!! My biggest concern is that they would not go on at all and that the power mirror would not work. I figure if they go on that I can finnagle a switch etc for the heaters.

yeah, its no worries. . in fact a friend of mine has done the same swap, though his are non power/heat... You will like being able to turn the heat on, especially during rainy weather... . It keeps the mirrors dry. I learned that from driving a big truck. Major difference!

OK thanks. Once I figure out the electronics for the heat part I will post a how to... Assuming I can grab the mirrors of course. Been looking for a while.
