I installed a replacement transmission cooler from Mishimoto on my 06 two weeks ago and thought I'd post about it in case anyone else was considering one. So far, I am very happy. It was a very easy install by removing the driver side wheel well liner - could access the transmission lines to cut and connect the Mishimoto provided new lines. Cooler is well made and substantial. It is also much bigger than the OEM cooler but fits in the OEM location perfectly (I had to add an extra quart of fluid or thereabouts). Bolted right in. It has an easily serviceable thermostat (140 deg I believe), that can also be removed (permanent bypass) for hot climates.
From a performance perspective, and understanding that my old cooler may have had some thermostat issues, I am seeing a good 10-20 deg drop in temps (as measured in the pan). I towed up in the CO mountains last week and was pretty much steady at 180, topped 190 at the top of a pass, and it came right back down - my prior trip a few weeks earlier I was topping out at 200-205 and running an avg of about 190-195. (note: I do not have the check ball in the cooler line - removed earlier this summer).
Bottom line, I like it. Great build quality, and I like the fact that the thermostat is meant to be serviced if necessary. Super easy install.
