I have noticed this week and last that whenever I come to a complete stop after being up to speed, I get a very distinct miss at idle. I can not detect and stumble with the go peddle aplied and it will go away after only 30 seconds or so. I can not tell any differnce in SOTP power. The fuel pressure checks out and I have ran 6 tanks of fuel through it this week. Another interesing twist is I have the best MPG ever out of my truck during this week. I have received over 20 MPG for the first time. I ussually get about 18. 5 on interstate driving. I would like to ditch the miss and keep the MPG. I do not know if they are related, but with the computer controlling timing, fueling, ECT... you never know. I do have an edge EZ and will unhook it tommorrow to see if it makes a difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The miss is not a failure mode of the Edge EZ. I spoke with them when I installed mine so that I would know what to expect. Two failure modes. One is you just get stock power, the other is limp mode. These are usuallycaused by connector failures they say. I know mechanic but thought I would share what the Factory EDGE guys said.

Im sure that you have already checked the filter and water in filter. But i get mine doing the same thing if i have alot of water in the fuel this time of year. Then i open the valve and let it drain while it is running. Have you checked for codes yet ?

Posm wish I knew more. I believe what I said about the edge not being the cause. Sounds more like water as others have indicated or air in the system. I would check fuel filter o ring injectors etc. . also there was a recall on cracks in the fuel filter on some older models that could be happening and getting the air thing. just thoughts.

Just an update. I took the edge off and ran for a week. I know I have crossed over to the dark side and can not go back to 234/450. The miss either went totally away or 95%. I could not tell if it was there or not. I talked to the folks at ADT (great service) and the suggested that I try some die-electric grease on the conectors before we swap the Edge out. I went to Cummins in Montgomery and got the grease from them and put it on the Map and the diagnostic connector as well. The miss was VERY prominent by Friday. I drive about a 1000 miles a week and get a good amount of "testing" time. I do not know if it is the Edge or the conections that are causing the miss. It did not seem to start up right away when I put the box back on. Does this truck have 'learn' capabilities in the ECM that the Edge might put over the limit and cause a miss??? I am going to try one more thing by putting the grease on the Jumpers in the edge. May be bad conections are to blame there. One thing I see is a lot of ozone cracking and spliting in the rubber seals on the Edge. It is only 5 months old. I wonder if the seals could have let in some moisture??

For what it's worth,

I had very distinct miss at idle that only occured when the engine was warm. It miss a beat or two every second or so. It was baffling me for at least a year. I swapped connnector tubes, the map sensor, the air temp sensor. I disconnected all the goodies and checked all the connections. Finally, when I swapped out the injectors and copper washers the miss went away.

When I examined the copper washers, I could see how one of them didn't appear to have seated correctly. It wasn't shiny like the others. It was kind of half tarnished on half of one side. Apparently, the injector wasn't seated right, and when the engine heated up, it caused a slight mis-alignment between the injector and the connector tube, which let air into the system.

I still get 20mpg too.
