I hope you guys can help! I recently developed a miss at WOT in 4&5th gears at full till. Feels just like a bad spark plug wire on a gas engine. My fuel pressure was low 8lbs. and fell to 4 at WOT. I changed the pump and the filter no change. Finally changed the sending unit on the gauge. Instant fix. i now have 13lbs. dropping to 10 or 10. 5 at WOT. Still a miss? Could I have a bad injector? or what. I am lost as to the answer. I have a fairly new main pump 10mo. and as you can see the 275 injectors. I run about 31lbs of boost. It only misses with the box on 4or5. Any ideas? Thanks, Dave

Thanks for the reply. The fuel pressure gauge drops at WOT to about 10lbs. That should be enough I would think. I will call Harry at Piers today, keep you posted. Dave

Missing

DaveD, I had a similar problem the comp box, wiring harness was bad. Call Edge They'll send you a new box with harness pretty good customer service. Just my . 02. Thanks Steve B.

You need to check codes. I've got a 254 code and mine misses real bad at wot. It's a fueling circuit code. Got any white smoke when it does it.

Thanks for all the info. I need to check the codes thats for sure. Mark at Piers suggested it would be a lack of fuel not fuel pressure just not enough flow. I am not sure that would be all it is though. I think tommorrow I will have my trusty dealer (Carson Dodge) check the ecm codes as the check engine light comes on occasionally then goes off by itself! I will let ya know, Dave

I have a miss at w. o. t. , or close to w. o. t. I have not decided if it has to do with the comp yet or not. Keep us up to date on what you find.

Just got back from the dealer and the tech gave me the codes. The miss a WOT or close tothat is the lift pump. I have 13psi at idle and 10 at wot but not enough flow ie volume to supple the pump. He measured the volume it puts out in a givin time and it was below cummins spec. He also indicated that dodge was more interested in flow than pressure.

My other problem of shutting down while driving is tha ASSP switch code 216.

This switch transmits the throatl position to the vp44 as an electric signal. I ie goiung out and when it fails the ecm shuts the engine down it resets and off you go after 1 pump of the pedal. Not to cheap to fix though ($640) including the part which was $516. I think I am going to install the FASS system. Anyone have one that copuld comment please do. Dave

For you guys with a miss under throttle and an Edge Comp, where is your ground wire run? Does it go the the intake horn like Edge says to do? If so cut that wire and run it directly to the battery, mine had a bad miss and I was getting code 0253, after I moved the ground the problem was gone.

Tim, thanks for the tip on the gound wire it worked! I switched out my lift pump and it helped with about half the miss problem drove right back and reattached the ground to the batt. Totally gone it really made a dif. I still have the bad ASSP switch but now I wont have to replace the transfer pump right away. I do beleive i will go with the FASS system if I can get some input on it. Thanks agian, Dave
