Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Missing Data Plate

My cummins had a new timing case when I bought it. It does not have a data plate on it. Is there a way to get a new one or at least the information that it would have on it? Would the local cummins shop be able to help me get it? Thanks!

Call a Cummins shop, and give them the engine ID. I think there is more than one place that has the #, but call them first and let them know your issue.

I know the skinny on this one. .



Call a Cummins distributor an give them the chrysler vin#



Once you give them this, they can convert it to the engine serial number, and send you a paper copy of the fields on the data tag.



Unfortuneately they no longer manufacture the data tags, but will send you a generic model that can be engraved.



The other choice might be to find a 2003-2004 and get the part # off the white vinyl adhesive tag on the engine, perhaps they can run one of those to stick on the gear housing.



I purchased a 98, 12v. that had this issue for my brother. . missing data tag (case prior to us buying the truck) the tech was too lazy to swap them over. . the least they could have done was to grind the rivets and return the data plate to the glove box!



The part # 3926850 (superceeds but no longer manu. ). . this is what was on your truck.



Generic blank plate=3027288.



I don't have the number for the rivets handy. . sorry

thanks, thats what i needed. I just want the info. It would have been nice if they had left the original like you said. I have to go to cummins to get a coolant hose so I will do that today thanks again.
