Carrier Bearing maybe?

2004 to a 2007 truck bed swap. Will it fit?

HELP?
I am having issues with the truck... runs like crap, like it is missing. Low fuel, lift pump pressure is varying 8 to 15 pounds, high pressure is going crazy. Just got it back from mechanic, ran fine going home, sat a couple days and now this again. Again, this is why I had it in before. Mechanic found several wires shorted; fan clutch, turbo waste gate, he replaced the intake temp sensor and batteries, repaired wires... I had a little white/gray smoke before and after, rev it, lots of smoke. Mechanic thinks it over heated and wasted the head gasket... he wants to do head gasket, injectors, etc. oil is perfect, no foam, not loosing water or very little, if at all.

Truck has a Bully Dog and Banks intake air horn, Nathan K5LA.

Any suggestions on where to look next beside a new mechanic? Computer, fuel relay, lift pump???
This is one issue that I don't have the knowledge or tools for, I'm learning diesel mechanics under the weekend shade tree. :(

Probably need injectors at this point, you have all the symptoms. It is possible the cross over tubes are loose and causing the immediate problems or FCA is bad. Are you getting any codes to use for reference?

If a head gasket is bad enough to cause engine missing or running bad, there is no doubt. You don't have to think or guess. I would take it to another mechanic for a 2nd opinion.

Brothers and sisters all,
I am so sorry that it has taken this long to reply.
No excuses.... After reading other posts I am starting to think injectors. At this time, there are zero codes. I have the Bully Dog showing none, and cheesy code reader with none. It is running a little better, but lots of smoke, gray/white on acceleration. A little at idle. I do run a additive, Howes lubricator conditioner and anti-gel.
Other posts are saying, injector cleaning, ohm reading on injectors, additives. ????????? How,what????????
I hear "sea foam" and other acronyms for additives, please explain and how much should I add at one time?
Ohm reading of the injectors, do I have to remove covers to do this, or can I go about this from the injector plugs outside?
Cleaning the injectors, an additive and run it? or some other way?
If it comes down to replacing the injectors, I believe replacing them all, thoughts???

BTW, remanufactured engine has 35K on clock, I do not know if the injectors are from old engine or are new. I will assume new with engine.
First diesel, and getting crash coarse, love the forum and all the help it gives..... thank you thank you thank you thank you!

I had a cracked injector nozzle. The engine would run fine until it warmed up then it would buck when coasting down hill. also if you ran the engine at a fast idle 1500 rpm it would miss and buck. When I pulled the injectors out of the warm engine you could see the crack andas the injector cooled the crack would close up to the point you could not see it. I went with Stage one injectors from Dynomite.

With the conditioner you should need an injector cleaning, but, it is cheap exercise. Easy way to do it is remove the filter and cap, drain the OE filter housing, fill with Sea Foam, install filter and cap, start truck and idle for 60 seconds, shut off and let sit for 12-24 hours. That should help if the injectors are gummed.

I would also remove the Bully Dog at the same time to validate it is not the issue.

If all that makes no differences, it is good chance you got reman injectors with the reman engine.

OK....tried all the above. Bully dog off, cleaned injectors, additives, etc.
I had the injectors replaced, 100+ HP, new installed, ran like a champ, little extra black smoke but ran good........until I got to the light and it stalled. Low pressure fuel is at 15lbs. High pressure rail seems a little low, 4000 lbs at start and idle. It seems that every time I come to a stop she will stall. I have ordered a injection pump, waiting for delivery. cleaned FCA connections, had an extra relief valve changed out, after each item, she would run good momentarily then back to the same, crappy low power and stalling. BTW with no codes shown!

Now what? any suggestions? I have a appointment with the dealer so they can put in on their computer. Can it be the ECM itself??? I am still at t loss.... Help?
