I just purchased another 2003 4x4 quadcab, (love the year!). Anyway, the truck came with two differnt sets of tires. The fronts have Good Year Wrangler SR-A, P255/75R17! The rears have BF Goodrich Mud Terrains T/A, LT 255/75R 17, load range "C"!!! What a mismatch to say the least! The tires look like they may have 10,000 miles on them. I have two questions, #1 with the smaller diameter tire on the rear what are the chances of rear end damage and question #2, with the front tires having "P" rating will they be able to hold up to the weight of the Cummins? I'am trying to hold off on making any more "big" purchases for at least one more month, (priced new Hancook tires 265/75/17 load range "E" $225. 00 EACH PLUS, BALANCE AND MOUNTING). I will not be doing any towing with the truck in the next month, I will be using this truck as my personal / business truck and most of the driving will be local short trips, say 10- 15 miles. Thanks for any information, Frank

Are the rears larger? I ask because the sizes suggest they're the same.

Anyway, if they are different, then the transfer case will not be happy. In fact, I would never engage the transfer case with mismatched front/rear sizes. Never.

But so long as you remain in 2wd at all times, I don't see any harm in leaving it alone. The only issue is the fact that they're over their weight rating. Which is dangerous in itself, but I suppose if it's lived 10000 miles you might be okay for another month.

The diameter is the same as the stock Lt265/70R17. So not an issue for rear end damage. IMOA I would not drive the truck with P-metric tires their not up to the task, neither are the rears.

IMO you should switch the tires from back to front and get the load range E tires under the big cummins to keep from a blow out. those p rated tire's are maybe over loaded on the front but if on the back they maybe ok on the back, if you do not haul any load's, and you just use the truck as a daly driver only.

Thanks guys, I was just trying to hold off for a month, going in this weekend and purchaseing a set of four tires. Frank
