No doubt I'm gonna get a lot of flak on this question but what the heck, I have two cases of 10-30 left over from my last gasser, any thoughts about if it is wise to combine it with the Delo 400 about 30% next oil change?, I don't question the lubricity but not sure of compatibility of the additives,, ok now, ler er fly :-laf :-laf
 
Have a buddy with a gasser trade you one case of diesel oil for your two cases of gasser oil. Or change the oil in your lawnmower, snowthrower, log-splitter, go-cart, generator, chemical sprayer, forklift, and powerwasher TWICE.



But don't put it in your CTD crankcase. The warranty issue alone makes it a bad move. As per the previous post the fuel tank is better than the crankcase but there are more suitable products for fuel additives.
 
thanks, all are probably valid opinions but lack in specifics, my gasser oil is rated for API use in gas engines including all turbo applications & SL, SH and SJ, the Delo Diesel is rated mosly for API C4 - C4H plus SL & SH, I'n not sure what applications fall under SL-SH rate, the viscosity of the Delo 400 is 15-40 the other is 10-30, that sounds like a good blend to me??
 
I checked my owners manual and all it says is to use C-4, SH, oils with a sulfated ash content under 1. 85 to prevent ash buildup on the valves, nothing about additives or lubricity, I take it that ash on the valves isn't a good thing to have, but thanks again I expected to get my fat fried

The 10W30 is not rated for your truck and does not have the proper additives needed for the soot dispersant - do not use this in your truck.

I wouldn't mix more than a couple quarts of gasser 10w-30 in, though. The only 30 weight you should use is a diesel-rated oil like Rotella.



I've mixed VISCOSITIES quite a bit. But I've never mixed passenger oil and diesel oil together.





Shouldn't be a problem if you don't mix in more than 33% passenger gasser oil.

Hmmmmm, two cases of engine oil for a gasser = $30. One Cummins ISBe 5. 9l turbo diesel engine = $10,000. Do the math for yourself then take RMalone's advice and swap with a gasser buddy.

1 quart of any weight of oil, to 30 gallons of diesel , not even a hint of oil could even be traced in the fuel, that cummins will run on straight 10w oil all day long, all day strong, most modern over the road trucks have a recycler on them and a fresh oil tank on them and you never change the oil, just keep the the tank full and it adds and removes oil on its own, mixing the used oil with fuel and burning it, they only have to change filters... ... they run for over a million miles without problems..... :--)
