Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Who's got a barn?

Denver, FP guage I can borrow

A little more response is good.

I had an inquiry if this is open to all diesel pickups.

I say the more the merrier, but you are the judges.

BTW, my newsletter goes out to around 3 dozen people by blind carbon copy (BCC) sending. This protects people from email propagated virus.

Hope to see you on the 18th.

Have them all come on down! I don't mind! I just would be slightly concerned with the wheel base issue. From what he was saying the truck has to be from the rear bumper to the center of the front hub... . no more than 16' 9'' or so, less is good... more... well may not fit.

Josh

Suonds like A good time wiating to happen. . I will try to show up , but I dont think I will dyno . . My truck is still stock. . No time to put in A Pyro gauge. . :(

Ford Boys????

Do you mind if a couple of my wayward Ford friends show up to dyno? I will have them measure their truck to see it they will fit if you guys don't care.

Why would you want a couple of Ford boys there?

1) to show them the kind of group they don't have

2) to kick some Ford butt on the dyno

3) To watch them get squeamish when you ask them how much money they have in the Fords (one guy has a very expensive full blown Banks package and I would be surprised if he would break 375hp)

Two of the trucks are crew cabs, I believe short boxes, so they may be out of luck.

Crew cab short beds are generally shorter than my ext cab long bed.

I'm around 18' from the back bumper to the front wheels.

Darn... Wait, I'm not planning to ride the dyno anyway.

RPM (optical) pickup yes or no?

Cost? Don't go there. I'm at $500 for numerous dyno runs and mods that doubled my output to 300 rwhp. Why do I complain? The next 100 hp will cost me around 5 times more. Luckily, I have the trany that will hold me well into 500 hp.

Jeff;

If you want a GSK install you will have to get your ... truck there at a respectable hour.

If the Ford guys wanna come on down, the more the better! They do have the optical pick-up sensor. I'm hoping to visit them this week and get all the details ironed out.

Josh

I have no problems with the Ford Boys joining in. I have a few friends with PSD's so I will see if they are man enough to show up! Hell, I wouldn't even mind if a few of those Durascraps showed up, as long as they play nice;)

Slight Change But a BETTER GO

Alrighty... . I spoke again with John at John Haley Motorsports. After finding out the actual wheel base of the truck, he wasn't sure it would fit. I asked him about his exhaust system, he said we vent it outside. So thanks to John E I found a better location. This one is closer to my house so we can have a BBQ after and chat. HiTech Motorsports in Ramsey is the place. We will be starting at 10am. I do need to know for sure who will be Dynoing. The price is $50. Depending on how many trucks come down and how fast we can run them on the Dyno will depend on of we can drop that down a bit. All Trucks are Welcome. The more the better, but I DO NEED A HEAD COUNT of how many people want to run ASAP! Brian said we should be able to run 4 door trucks without a problem. The only "problem" is Duallys, we will have to take off the outside tire. Unless you are running LOTS of power, this shouldn't be an issue. Any questions PM me, or call me at 612 232 2061.

Josh

PS the Ventilation system at HiTech is TOP NOTCH. If I remember correctly approx 30,000CFM!

Hi Josh,

You can count on two more trucks for the dyno. I am going to bring my truck and I am bringing a buddy of mine along with his 02 Powerchoke just to show him whats what:D My buddy want to bring his Furd so he can " embarass you Dodge boys " . He wanted me to let him know if he could bring his truck at least a week before we ran the dyno so he could make some "improvements". I don't know what either of our #'s will be but I know his truck is faster ( I wish I had O. D. ) than mine and he has no problem literaly smoking a D-Max. anyway you can count on us to show. Do you have directions to the shop or a address so I can get them from mapquest.

Thanks in advance for putting together this event. I am looking forward to it.

Kurt.

Directions are easy. HiTech Motorsports is located near my house. Take Hwy 10 east or west depending on which way you are comming from. If you are comming from the Cities you will be going west, from Elk River east. Take 10 to Sunfish Lake Blvd, go North. Cross the Rail Road tracks, and after the tracks take your first right. Follow that down a little ways and turn left on Radium. They are in the first parking lot on the right.

Address is

13915 Radium Street NW, Ste. C

Ramsey, MN 55303

So far we have 7 trucks so far, who else is going to speak up!

Josh

Well loosing isn't the reason we're gonna run..... I know who we are all gonna lose to. He's got a set of twins, and I'm not talking family members. I wanna run to see what she's got!

Josh

PS Kurt, don't worry, your buddy won't beat Aron.

Hey Josh,

Iam sure that there are quite a few Cummins powered trucks that are going to be putting up bigger #'s than the Fords that show up. After all Cummings are the best at making power AND LASTING for more than 100,000 miles, as some of the members of the TDR have shown that their trucks last to well over 1 million miles:D .

I know that Dodge trucks have their share of problems such as trannys and lift pumps but as a whole they seem to last alot longer than the other makes. I have heard owners of other trucks brag about hitting 150,000 miles with their diesels but at that point a Cummins is just getting broke in. I have had some problems with my truck (trans, rear axle seals), but I can't complain too much as I paid only $1,000 for it and the engine runs stronger than alot of $40,000 trucks that I've seen.

That twin turbo'd slug;) of Aron's probably burns up 100 ponies just to power all of those gadgets in his truck:D. I have no doubt that Aron will have the top numbers for the day, hopefully I can take a distant second. Maybe by this time next year I will be able to play with the big dogs:cool:

If all goes well and I don't gernade my transmission I hope to be up with you guys next year. Aron kinda showed me the turbo light... ... ... what am I getting into!

And lovin every min of it!

Josh

THIS is the reason I love working on trucks!

Like I said, it's not too far off from driving the space shuttle ;) (you think the cab is busy, you should see the engine compartment).

You give me too much credit. The thing might fail miserably. I've never done anything like this before. And you assume I know what I'm doing (I'll never tell you if I do or not:D).

525 RWHP here I come!!!

BTW, we won't be setting any HP records. The record for the shop is 820+ HP. But we might be able to set a tq. record. That's around 800 ft-lbs. That should be easy to do.

I talked to him yesterday about the dyno and the event. The dyno is a 428 Dynojet. It has a 4000 lb roller (which won't be enough load). He's got the ability to measure several other parameters in addition to RPM and HP. We'll have to look into it more that day. The exhaust unit is 15,000 cfm. I think we can overload it if we try hard enough. Also, I figured on around 20 trucks. He's thinking we can measure 3 trucks an hour with 2 runs for each truck at $50 with $25 for each additional hit after that. They are going to strap each truck on it's axle, unless the driver specifies otherwise (for those whose axles are covered in too much crap).

He seems like an intelligent fella who's very interested in making this event work for us. Great guy to talk to about muscle cars, if you have questions. So I think it will be a great time.

Josh, add a couple of Bowties to the mix. Actually, four of them as of now. No Fords, other than those listed above. I'll keep you advised.

Thanx Aron, I'm a newbie at this Dyno thing. If you set it up for 20 trucks we should be good to go. Right now I belive I'm sitting at 12 or 13 with your additions.

Josh

I'm really looking forward to this!

More info

Hi folks.

I'm a little late to this thread. I read everything up until now, but can someone post the current 'plan' as of 10/03?

Thanks. I'd like to attend, maybe dyno, meet some folks.
