Who's got a barn?

Denver, FP guage I can borrow

Dave,

Glad to hear that you are going to attend! You will have a good time and meet a bunch of really great forum members. I think Josh will be posting the exact times and directions very soon.

Bill

EXACTLY what is going on is this. I plan on everyone meeting at HiTech Motorsports in Ramsey at 10am. When we are done there we can head back to my place for a BBQ and discussion if people want to. I live approx 5 miles from there so it's nice and close. As Aron said it will be $50 each truck and $25 for each hit after that. I hope that clears things up a bit.

Josh

Please add one more Ford to the mix. He'll be bringing a 2002 F-350 from LeCenter. It's turned up pretty good and should be fun to watch.

Josh, I think we should probably start by 8 or 9. It's gonna take a while to run all them trucks. Whadya think?

Amianthus,

Who's this guy with the Ford? Sounds like my brother, he's from LeCenter and has a 2002 F-350. ???

Thanks,

Trever

Some guy named Chris (won't post his last name unless he says so). He's coming with a hopped up Ford (if there really is such a thing);).

Seriously, he sounded like a good guy to bring to this event. Not to mention, the oval crowd seems a little under-represented. I hope he can make it.

Sweet!!! That's him!

He is a good guy. He has nothing against the Cummins engines, even approved of me getting one because they are cheaper and easier to hop up, but likes the styling of the Ford Super Duty's supposedly. I got to ride in that truck once. :--) Can you say F-A-S-T? :D Just doing a little bragging for 'ya bro! It's not a twelve or thirteen second truck but it's fast enough. The EGT's climb too fast in full force so he has to drop out of it. Needs a bigger turbo or something. I could tell you all of his mods. :rolleyes: I don't know if he'd care or not. But that truck is really sweet. I'd like to have more power than it though! :( You guy's got to help me! :eek: I see i've also got to change my user name, pretty similar to his. :eek:

I will give him a call and see if he minds starting at 8. So far it sounds like we will have 20 plus trucks. I would rather start early, and have enough time than start late and run out... .

Josh

Great idea to start early.

mopower03;

I'll be in the parking lot tuning a couple 12 valve trucks that day.

One is a stock 95 that's getting governor springs.

The other is a loaded 98 that needs some tuning on the gsk and plate.

You're more than welcome to join the action.

John,

I might do some talking with him and see if I can come up. I've got nothing planned for the weekend. Don't know if i'd want to drive up there myself, being 19 i'm not real used to city driving, or just drive up to his place and get a ride from him(assuming I can go). What does this place all do? Do they sell stuff also? Maybe I can get my gauges by then and either install them there, get some info on installing them there, or have them installed already and do some tuning. ??? We'll see what happens.

Thanks,

Trever

Trever,

This place is mostly a tuner place for gas cars. I would talk to Amianthus about anything you may want to get. He is a Piers distributor. If you want to bring your guages up, I don't know if we will have a chance to install them at the Dyno, but I have compressed air and can bring home the tools to install any guages you have. I live just a couple miles from the Dyno. As for the City driving, the only way you get good is with practice. Stay right, read signs and always check your blind spot when changing lanes. It's really a piece of cake. The roads you would be taking are pretty simple, and on a saturday morning should be free and clear.

Josh

This is not a BOMBing session anymore. The dyno is capturing everyone's attention. Still a good opportunity to check out other people's trucks and see how they drilled for pyro probes, routed wires and boost lines, mounted gauges, etc.

I'm installing Jeff's governor spring kit (GSK) because it is not tooling or time intensive. It is also the only weekend we can hook up to get it done.

Denny's tune-up uses the same tool set as it will be checking governor springs and plate position.

Both are great to learn the basic bombing techniques of a 12 valve Cummins.

Hey Trevor.

Let me know if ya come. Meet me in Silver Lake at the Marathon gas station on hwy 7. We can convoy out to Ramsey. Oh see ya Thursday too.

I hope to get there around 10 or 11 in the morning. I would have to say 8 is awfull early. Some people have at least a 3 hour drive the way it looks.

How embarissing. Every one will see how dirty and messy it is under my hood when John does gov springs. :eek: Probably the only contest I could win. :D

20 trucks

This is promising to be a great mix of diesels across the dyno. Even if you don't want to turn the rollers, it is a great time to be around other poeple that are just as pumped on diesel as you, no matter the brand.

Josh;

Must be up to 20 trucks by now?

Did you check into starting earlier?

Jeff;

We saw a lot of really grimy trucks at Josh's party back in July. Besides, you should have those new Optimas to distract everyone?

edit: corrected a grammatical

More all the time.

I heard from a couple more diesel heads planning to attend.

This is going to be a great time for trucks on the dyno as well as "pop the hood and show off what you got" in the parking lot.

I sure hope the weather holds.

Hey guys,

Plan on attending. Might hitch a ride with my brother though instead of driving my truck up there. Still thinking about it though.

Thought about buying some parts and bringing them along if anyone could help install them, but maybe it will be too busy. Let me know either way. Probably get some gauges anyway. The pyro/boost taps and pillar mounting holes are already on the truck, just need to put everything where it will go. It wouldn't be nothing too major. Also might need some transmission/TPS/Kickdown tuning done, or a little diagnosis. And I wouldn't mind installing a mystery switch. Does anyone have any trucks with an aftermarket auto transmission, especially a DTT, that I could do a test ride or test drive in? I hear a lot on the internet about people recommending others to test drive a vehicle to figure out what transmission they like and should get. Unfortunately, I believe a transmission replacement is going to be in my future or atleast some mods to it.

JohnE, let me know before Monday if we can or will have time to do something on my truck. If not, I probably will hold off on the bombing parts for awhile(could use a 3500 tailgate) and just take in some info and experience from you guys. Nothing wrong with that! :D I think it's going to be a fun time. ;)

Trever

P. S. What's the head count of trucks and people now?

As of right now

As of right now... . by what has been posted on here... . I have a count for 17 trucks. I due to people in other sites and what not that are going to show, I'm gonna say 25 trucks, to be safe. Fords, Chevys, and most of all CTD's. If people want to come down and BS that's cool too. This should be a great opportunity to for that!

Josh

370's are on the way!

Trevor;

Sorry, but I will not have time to do any work on your truck. I'm booked with the Jeff H's GSK and Christen's (Denny) tune-up.

Add 7 seven hours of travel time and my day is really full.

My first dyno day was almost exactly 3 years ago at one of the originators of dyno days and diesel performance, BD-Power in Abbotsford, BC.

I was way too busy checking out everyone's truck and watching the dyno action to ever consider BOMBing my truck in the parking lot.

Enjoy the day. If you drive your truck, we can try pinpoint the transmission troubles. Besides, your brother may need a ride home... ... ?

I'm new at TDR, but I live in Ramsey so I'll have to stop by. I'm not sure if I'll want to (or have time to) run it on the dyno or not.

John,

No problem at all. I might just do a little reading up on it and do it at school some day. Do you think it is worth it to buy a PDR 4K GSK for $205? Seems like a good deal. It will still be interesting to watch everything though, catch some fumes. Sounds like you have quite a drive.

I was thinking about bringing the digital camera to take some pics if that is allowed. Anyone else doing that? Probably buy another memory card before then.

I'm going to check the TPS next week, maybe that is just out of adjustment and is causing the transmission problems.

Later,

Trever
