It was a great time. First time racing the quarter, and it was a lot of fun. Just remember, "if you bump up the power, upgrade the cooling system too... . " :-laf

Well guys I want to say Thank you for another great get-together! I had a great time dispite my lack of sleep for the weekend. So my apologies if I was a little stand-offish. I was a little dissappointed with my times, I was hoping to be faster than what I ran in Muncie (15. 3 @ 92mph) but I won't complain about my 15. 7 @ 87. 6. I wish one of the track guys with the radios would have told that announcer to shut his pie hole when Tim VOULINTARILY (sp?) went out there and helped clean up the mess! That announcer can't be paid more than minimum wage!

Josh

I'm with josh on this one, he was talking smack. Other than that i had a great time thanks to spicyjam for the invite. The lil fat kid's girlfriend had a good time playing with spicy's kids. i was happy with my times 15. 406 @ 87 mph. i didnt like breaking out in the first round though by a 1/4 second dont ask me where it came from but it did. once again i had a great time BS'in you guys. till we roll again... ... .

Yeah, it was fun watching you guys there tear the track up ;) or i should say oil/wash it off LOL

i was there with the CTD but it was used to tow the race car there...

I ended up towing Tim's truck back it only made it about 1/4 way back if, and the "mak shift" frost plug fell out. . so we loaded it up on the trailer...

wow, extra weight sure as hell showed , all of your guys's trucks needs to go on a heavy diet. . shave off 1000 pounds and you are talking whole second at least. . off your 1/4. .

Tim, you wanted the address of that place. . 1014 Front Ave St Paul, mn 55103

guys, whats Tims screen name on here, i tought he said DieselTim but that sN is from someone in GA or something. .

-E

Tim's SN is dieseltim no caps. That's to bad that it had to be towed. I was watching on my trip home for you guys, but didn't see ya. I was about 25 min behind you.

As a drag racer from before, I know of the for every 100 pounds shed, it takes a tenth off the time. I still think it is more fun shoving 7000+ pounds down the track. I know my truck weighs 7300 with me in it and hitting 89. 6 mph through the trap was fine with me. Then watching Tim on video laying down a 13. 44, now that is way cool. Just to think that if he had a good bumper and a hitch, he could still pull a large trailer and have no issues.

Now as for the starting tree, I have to say I ended having a hell of a time with the LED's, guess I am going to have to practice a little more to get use to that.

I was on the tracks web site yesterday, funny how the announcer wants someone else to take over for Sport Compact, and fun days, hmmmmmmmmm can we say "dick head"?

Yes he's been a ******** totaly on every sport compact day... thats why i am not going on those days ever again. .

Their equipment mel****ioned soo much that day that i had one pass at 4. 3 @ 655mph . . then i had another 7. 4 @542mph ... . then i had one pass at 23 seconds. .

i went and complained the most to them about not closing lines too, people would make a run and come right back into the same line and run again before they would have closed that line, and we were in the line there before them already!!!

At the end of the day i decided to ice my intake down while i was in the lines, well i was pulled over at the end of the track and asked not to do that, and then i took my helmet off right at the end of the track when he was talking to me and he marked me down for having my helmet off before i parked the car and asked me to leave. . that i won't be alowed to make any more runs that day!!! wtf. .

and that was because i complained about my super fast runs...

Calling them hillbillies is insult to the rest of the hillbilly nation. . , on import days half of the cars they don't even know the names... they need to fix their PA and talk less crap over it. . and be better at announcing where to go and what needs to be done. .

and most of all fix their damn timing system!!!

-E

I had a great time at the track, even with my stocker. I'd be willing to give them another chance. But, I wouldn't mind letting the track owners know how unwelcome we were made to feel by the announcer. Our $$$ spends just as good as everyone elses.

I also wouldn't mind giving Brainerd a try. It's pretty much the same distance, just a different direction.

What do you figure my truck would run with an EZ and Mach 1. 5's? Hmmmmmm. Better see if the wife can pick up a side job. :-laf

I will call and complain about that announcer. I origionally did call, they didn't say anything about helmits, and I told them about the club comming out. They announced that the TC stangs were there, but nothing about us.

What do you guys recommend the course of action is. A nice form letter, or everyone call and voice their opinion?

Even the TC stangs commented on their site about how poor that announcer was/is!

Josh

I e-mailed them, not a mean one but still just to get the point across. In my opinion, if they did not want us there then they should rid themselves of fundays. During tech the guy that looked over my truck said he was happy to have us there. So could not be all of them that didn't like trucks, it is money, and all in all most us have more torque than any gasser out there.

Take my truck, shave off 4000 pounds and make it a 3300 pound truck and you have a 12 sec truck. Now Tim on the other hand, take off just 3000 pounds and you are in the 10's, see what I am getting at. Do you know how much money it takes a gasser to get into the 10's. More than one thinks, take my Grand Prix, 15,000 bucks in chassis, another 30,000 in motor, then I still need a transmission, paint, seat fuel cell, etc... ... ... ..... , just to go into the 9's. So for all of us that ran, hats off to you.

Nope, not sure if I will either. I e-mailed Jennifer there and let her know of what I thought. I think that if we run again, BIR is fine. Or Tri State in Iowa. We could do a weekend and just have a blast.

I e-mailed the DHRA and told them about what happened. Andy Sebek returned my E-mail and said to talk to them nicely about it, and try going there again. His words were Let them know that we are serious with our sport and are we aren't there to waste anyone's time. He also said if they have internet access to have the track check out the DHRA web page. Send them a couple runs of guys running 10's or 11's. See if the attitude changes. If it doesn't then unfortunately try another track. He would like to know how things turn out. If they give me greef, have them call him.

He also mentioned they are going to try and get a DHRA event up in our neck of the woods for next season.

Josh

Good job Spicy. That is the right way to handle it. If you come across as just being a dink, nobody will listen. If you just try to get our point across, maybe something will change.

What is the email address? I'd like to do the same.
