Hi guys,

I hope this is the right forum for this... if not, I apologize! I have to take my truck in for the fuel/water recall- it's an '06 3500 with 5" turbo-back (including a 5" high-flow cat), AFE Stage 2 intake, and autometer gauges. [I've never had a programmer, and there won't be a TST on it when it goes to the dealer... ].

Any recommendations on which dealers to target and which to avoid due to my intake and exhaust mods?

Thanks!!

I hope that leaving the intake and exhaust on there isn't a problem... what a pain to have to swap all of that out each time. I'm all about reliability and fuel economy with today's prices- hence the gauges and mods I mentioned, respectively. If I break something of my own accord, I wouldn't expect it to be covered, it's threads like the one pointed out above that worry me- because I've put a little money into the truck to be able to watch the temps, made it breathe better to lower EGT's for longer engine life, and increased timing for fuel economy, that some greedy dealer will have my warranty voided on the whole truck.

That being said, I don't want to get into the warranty discussion, but I do appreciate the recommendation of reasonable dealers in AZ. (I will ask around about Performance and see if they're still cool).

Thanks again, guys, and to anyone else who has recommendations here...

I wouldn't think they would try and stick it to you on a recall deal. All they should be doing is the recall work which isn't a component failure of any kind.

I think I would personally stop in and talk to the service manager to see what they say.

I spoke with the Service Mgr's at many of the local Phoenix dealers regarding what would void the trucks warranty. I had, also, done the air intake & exhaust.

To a man, they said that modifications to the exhaust or air intake are fine as long as you DO have an air filter & a muffler system.

They said that anything that modifies the fuel delivery system can cause warranty problems.

Many dealers offer performance products for our trucks. Larry Miller Dodge (Peoria) sells injectors. Performance sells a number of boxes, etc.

From what I've heard, I wouldn't worry about the muffler or air intake system.

Just took my 06 with j/a and intake lift ect to dealer for shifting and comp flash and the service manager asked about the box in a strange way like there was going to be a problem untill I said they put it in and then I asked him if it would be a problem and he said no he just needed to know so he could have the tech unplug things before he did diagnostics and then to top it off thanked me for leting him know that it was still hooked up before they chased their tail... ..... GO FIGURE

pm me for the dealer, would hate to ruin a good dealership
