i have a tst w/mp8 plan on modded cp3 (any suggestions) with flux 1's maybe the flux 2's but after that will the sps 62 are the ss62 be a big enough turbo are should i look at going to something bigger? Turbo is first on the list alone with a FASS

I got the HTT SP66 with the idea of modded CP3 and injectors... .

I even love it with out the injectors and CP3... ! Its my daily driver and I drive a minimum of 300 miles a day...

do you do any pulling if so does it surge? Twins are quite the investment dont know if my significant other will allow the allocations of 5grand on my old goat :-{} and i know that twins would be the way to go but if i can get a turbo that will keep the egts in check and not surge too bad during pulling i would be happy

I used to pull a 32' 5th wheel 13,000# and i also still pull a 24 car hauler ...

No problems at all ...

I turn the TST down and run the EZ on 2...

I have a hard time seeing 1200 deg on the big hills...

the modded cp3 is best suited for a 62 or bigger, if you will drive this alot and tow but want high hp too, then the silver 62 is a perfect match, if you are just towing and driving then the sps 62 is perfect. if you want high hp and dont tow, then the 66 sps or a silver bullet is what you need. thanks

My sledpuller has 0 surge issues when I tow. NGM diesel can attest to that. :D You just have to learn to drive it, again, as the EGT's can run up over 1200*, if you lug it. As long as you keep boost and RPM's up, and watch your gauge, it's fine. I also keep my boxes turned down, or off, when I tow.

If you have a modded cp3 then you obviously want high hp. You need at least a 66 class turbo to keep you cool at high hp, but no way even a 66 will provide the cooling or drivabiliy of twins. And your right, twins are big bucks. To around your significant other get a 62class right now, let her "get over" that expense, and later use it as the top turbo on a twins set, she'll never know what hit her. :D

thanks guys for all the advice, but i what i am gathering from yall is that everyone loves there sps62 and i could use it in a set of twins, and everyone loves there sled puller 66. I appreicate all the help and comments especially from malone :-laf what about a 64 haven't heard anything said about them. I am not familar with alot of twin setups could i use the htt 66 or the sps 66 as a bottom turbo in a set of twins later on down the road. I would be interested in a 66 as long as i could still pull about 15000 lbs every now and then. Since no one on here has had problems with the 66 in towing i am thinkin i might go that route unless someone can convince me why i shouldnt.

62 is faster to spool and work better as a small charger in twins. the 64 tested here surged more than the 66, I don't know why.

Ok Ok let me get this right... I can buy a 66 silverbullet and still tow if I turn my tst, down??? I don't pull often but I do pull and when I do it is usually several hundred miles... . Everyone told me if I tow at all I need a 62sps... . I like the idea of having the 66 cause I want to be able to turn the tst up a little and not melt my pistons. .

I tow my 30 foot dutchmen with the 66. my 24 foot haulmark enclosed sled trailer as well. tst on 1/0, ez level 2

although I do want to be clear, if buying again I would stay with the 62. then go twins. the 62 is much better spool up. the 66 really is not enough to keep it cool under heavy loads by itself either.

Ahh, the trade-offs. A 66 will tow but isn't as ideal as a 62, and the 66 will cool higher temps better than a 62 but not as well as twins. And the twins

tow and cool better than either, but they cost many dollars.

If I had the sequence to do over I would have started with the 62 and then used it in twins. As it is, I went with the 66 and want twins, which adds to the total cost. Both II and HTT want $600-$800 to convert a 66 to a 62.

you sure , paul told me 80 bucks to change to a 62.

Yeah, no doubt! All you're changing is the compressor housing and wheel. You already have the SPS portion.

Unless you don't want the SPS portion so that you get a slightly smaller exhaust housing side to get a quicker spool when used in a twins configuration?

Thats exactly what I was told by both II and HTT (last week), now to HTT's credit I did tell them it was an II turbo, so I wouldn't be offended if I got highballed. But II told me $600 to go from my sps66 to a ps62 and $800 to go to a silver 62, thats what they told me guys, I suspect the price is different at different times and given who you are and who you know. If I had heard $80 or even $200 I would send the sucker in and save the cost of a 62 for twins, no doubt. But at 6-8 hundred I may as well sell the 66 outright and start from scratch with a brand new 62.

It seems the reason you are getting quoted that high is because in going from an sps 66 to a ps 62 you are changing turbine housings and wheels also.

I bet if you said you wanted to go from an sps 66 to an sps 62 the price would be around 150. 00.

it might be a while before i can go to twins and i like to have a setup that allows me to uses the higher numbers on my box are both boxes for the matter, what i have gathered is the the 66 is not good for a twin setup but if i get a 66 i could make it a 62 for around 200$. About how much is it to upgrade from sps62 to twins just an estimate yall can pm me if yall dont want to post prices on here but again i am just lookin for an estimate thanks
