I have made my TIPM saver a Plug and Play with factory style plugs.
I am finding that a lot of people have had issues with the tow plug and TIPM getting knocked out from trailer light shorts. This is one of those things that "You don't need it until you need it"
ANY questions? PM me or check the classifieds

I just replaced my TIPM, due to all three brake lights not working and rationality faults caused by the ECM. Im not a happy camper!!! that stupid piece of plastic is almost the same as a vehicle payment to change out, I won't mention the labor as well for the trouble shooting time.

it started with me when I borrowed my friends dump trailer and I'm unsure if it fryed the lights after we hooked up the trailer. The traier has been verified good, so I'm unsure now if they were out prior to the hook up. I think your TIPM saver, if still available, would be cheap insurance from this happening again. I'd sure appreciate it if I could order one from you

I have been in touch with Motorhead and hope to be buying the design and name from him and hopefully will start making them in about 90 days!!!

I agree that this is a good idea. I checked the draw of my travel trailers running light circuit (15 lamps running including tail lights) and it was only 4. 4 amps. So there's no way it needs a 15 amp fuse.
I actually went one step further and put a relay on the trailer that uses the constant hot at the 7 pin to power the running lights (did this before I found out it only drew 4. 4 amps). So now the only load on the trucks circuit is the coil in the relay itself and there's less of a voltage drop to the lights.

If these become available again, I am also interested in one.

For the time being I was toying with the idea of mounting a small fuse block on the front of the trailer just in case a wire shorts out there will be a fuse in the circuit to blow hopefully before the tipm gives out.

buy a trail harness kit that "make a new 4 way flat" plug and rob the connectors like $18-24 dollars

I had to buy 2 of them to replace melted factory connectors that connect to the "tipm" saver

You guys, I am sorry to say that Motorhead's excellent TIPM Saver will not be available for purchase anymore. While we have been talking about my buying the business from him, both of us have concerns with the liability issues if one of these happens to fail, however unlikely that might be... . Long story short, in this litigatious society that we live in, neither of us want to become the subject of a lawsuit.

So sorry... doesn't mean that you cant build your own version... although carefully installed, weatherproof 10a in line fuses aftre the TIPM and before the trailer would also work... not as trick as the TIPM Saver, but also less involved.

Well if no one is going to make them. How about a parts list and DIY type stuff. I'm not in it for the money. Just a friend that needs one that I work and camp with.
