yea. . i see no lialiability... it trips if a short every circuit, its protected at the battery

and if it ever did "break" its cheaper to replace/fix than the tipm.

i don't see why you guys are worried. Just sell it as no warranty, and off road use and thats it.

It has a massive benefit, to very common problems.

McDonalds paid millions to some lady who spilled her own coffee. Another lady is suing the New York Apple Store because she couldn't see the clear doors. There are people here on the TDR that abuse their truck then expect full warranty coverage. I have no idea how much extra products cost just to pay the lawyers and damages.

Finding the correct plug n play connectors would be the challenge to build your own.

If someone could get me a clear shot of the interior of the connector I will give it my best effort to find a male and female part number, and a source as well.

If that is the 10-way connector then the end for the trailer plug side is a MOPAR 05017114AA.

I will have to break the books open to find the other end.

Let me know if it is the 10-way.

Mike.

I found links at the following by carl48: 5th wheel wiring - Dodge Diesel - Diesel Truck Resource Forums. Diesel Truck Resource Forums It has links in his write-up with pictures and at the bottom of his write-up is a link to a rough wiring diagram. The relays and fuse holders you can get at auto parts stores. Radio Shack has several size boxes which I believe are plastic. It didn't look like he had connectors, but it appears that Reese Products 85253 Trailer Connector Kit, which is about $20, the connectors can be taken from it and spliced in for a plug n play box. The box in the picutures is a lot larger than needs to be and could be mounted under the bed near the spare tire. Attached is picture of the Reese connectors.

Instead of using relays, fuses and a box I purchased a Modulite HD 119191 and cut the wires for turn and tail and spliced in the connector I mentioned in my other post. This way it's just a plug and play. I called modulite to find the correct number. This HD one allows 7 amps for tail/running lights where the lighter duty one only allows 4 amps. It was $50 +shipping from Redstrailer.com and $19 for the connector assembly. Only took 20 minutes to put together.
