Hello all. I am looking for a different shift lever for my rig. Getting tried of having to reach for sixth with the straight shift lever. Wife hates driving it because of that. I figure if I get her to like it, I'll be able to get more toys. :)

Not a different lever, but a different feel. BD makes a short shift kit that cuts down on the throw. You may want to look at it also, in addition to a lever.

Good news - Bad news time:

I fitted a hurst shifter from a SRT-10 ram into my truck, bend and all:

And I love it! --- Bad news, I am planning on making the shifter in a kit, ready to install - BUT I have been really busy with a job change, etc,etc and I admit I have been slacking BIG TIME. But I will tell you how to build one if you like, Heck I'll sell ya the parts, Cause I bought like 10 of those shifter/knobs a while back when they had extras

Pm me is you like - other than some math for angles/degrees of offset, its really quite simple (plus some grinding/welding) ;) - And ohh yeah, I have a general idea of where to start on the angle for ya

Here is mine in second gear

It is made from 5/8 stainless tubing and bent with a tubing bender and then polished. I welded a nut on the bottom to thread it on the shifter and then welded a bolt in the top for the knob. I plan on making a new one sometime soon so that I can incorporate a switch in the lever for my exhaust brake.

Tomeygun, Liked what I saw in the pictures. What would you charge to make and ship one of those for a 2nd Gen 6 speed? I am also looking for something different. Email me at -- email address removed -- if interested. Thanks.

Turbo Tim, I like what you have done also. E-mail me if you plan on selling it after you get your new one made. Thanks

That is what I am looking for. Execpt I don't have a welder, good excuse to get one though!

I did that at "work" but you are exactly right, even though I TIG welded it I think I need a new MIG welder so I can make a new one. tmilam, will do, if I get my new one made soon I'll let you know, madcow kicks in though and I forget things.
