Just as most Christians try to emulate Jesus, most Muslims try to emulate Mohammed, who in Islam is considered the first, last and greatest of the Prophets. (They consider Jesus a minor prophet, and say Jesus was not really crucified. )

So bearing in mind that most Christians say, "What Would Jesus Do?" Most Muslims are saying, "What Would Mohammed Do?"

Well, here is a list of things Mohammed did. What follows is all from the Koran or Islamic books favorable to Mohammed.

In the year 627 the Jewish tribe of Qurayza was raided by Mohammed. Some 700 men were beheaded. Edward Gibbon writes in his famous book, 'The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire': " ... seven hundred Jews were dragged in chains to the market-place of the city; they descended alive into the grave prepared for their execution and burial; and Mohammed beheld with an inflexible eye the slaughter of his helpless enemies. Their sheep and camels were inherited by the Moslems: three hundred cuirasses, five hundred pikes, a thousand lances, composed the most useful portion of the spoil. "

All the Jews that survived the battle of Khaybar were also put to the sword in 629 A. D.

It was in 630 A. D. that Mecca was taken by Mohammed. The entire population was converted to Islam and the Kaaba established as the religious center of Islam. All non-Moslems were forbidden entry into Mecca.

The Moslem year starts from 622 A. D. This is the year of HIJRA or flight of Mohammed and his followers to Medina.

Politics in Islam cannot be dissociated from religion and Islamic politics is quite different from party politics of a parliamentary system. Islamic politics is to strive for the supremacy of the Moslems over the rest of the population and for this purpose any method is acceptable to the mullahs. To win over converts or traitors, use of bribes or any other means can be utilised. And once victory is won, the non-believers are executed. This has been the way Islam has gained ascendacy in many countries in the past and the method is still being pursued in countries where Moslems are the minority. The mullahs preach their venomous messages inside the mosque to the followers of Islam and keep them from integrating with the national main-stream.

the KORAN permits men to use women captured in war for their sexual amusement. They can also be bought. Mohammed himself received two slave girls as a present from the governor of Egypt. One he gave to a man called Hassan, and the other he kept for himself, and she subsequently had a son by him.

Mohammed had 11 wives, as well as many concubines, even though he restricted his followers to four wives. A 'special revelation' from Allah permitted him to have as many wives as he liked. Oddly enough his revelations always seemed to tell him the sort of things that he wanted to know.

A poetess called Asma who lived in Medina wrote some satirical verses, making fun of her fellow citizens' adoption of Mohammed as their religious leader. These were passed from mouth to mouth, holding him up to ridicule. Mohammed arranged for her to be assassinated. She was stabbed in her tent, surrounded by her five children.

Islam is the only religion in the world which teaches that converts are to be won at the point of a sword. The KORAN says that those who won't accept Islam are to be killed. "When ye encounter the unbelievers, strike off their heads, until ye have made a great slaughter among them. "

In the religious wars that took place when Mohammed proclaimed Jihad (holy war) tens of millions have been killed.

Another myth about Islam is that it promoted equality. In reality Islam permitted the ultimate inequality--slavery. "There is no obligation whatever on a Moslem to release his slaves. ' Mohammed himself had slaves--17 men and 11 women.

Mohammed said that those who decorate their churches with paintings "were the worst part of all creation. " Yet Mohammed was guilty of the worst crimes any man can commit-murder. On one occasion he had the entire male population of a Jewish tribe, the Bani Quraizah, massacred and then had the women and children sold into slavery. Every book on Mohammed mentions this incident, and the KORAN, 33. 26 refers to it.

A man called Al Nadhr, who was a teller of tales, used to say of Mohammed to his audiences: "Are not my stories as good as his?" For this Mohammed ordered that the man be beheaded. After the battle of Badr a man called Uqba was taken prisoner. When he was being taken away to be executed he said to Mohammed: "What will become of my little children. " Mohammed replied: "Hellfire. "

It might be thought that I am quoting from books which are hostile to Mohammed. This is not so. Only Muir's book is slightly hostile to him. All the others go out of their way to portray him in a favourable light. We have enough evidence in the KORAN of Mohammed's cruel nature, in the punishments he ordered, his descriptions of hell, and his incitements to his followers to kill people.

Though he ordered the horrible mutilation of the cutting off of hands for theft, he was himself one of the biggest thieves in history. A 'revelation' from Allah permitted Mohammed to keep one-fifth of the spoils captured from the towns his followers invaded, and the caravans they raided.

After ten years of preaching in Mecca he only had acquired 70 followers. When he secured a base at Medina, he used the same methods as Hitler or Al Capone to establish his religion. All the accounts that tell us of him are biased in his favour, as death or exile awaited anyone who criticised Mohammed or the KORAN when Islam became the state religion of Arabia.

Non Moslems are not allowed in Mecca to this day. There is a highway that completely bypasses the town with a big sign the proclaims such. This was not told to me but experienced by me.

R U SURPRISED?

Rrausch,

I am certain you are NOT surprised, as any form of fanaticism is dangerous.

Stay in the middle and you will never do harm to your fellow man, you will always have to defend yourself and loved ones due to the endless breeding of hate that is cleverly disguised as a helpful, loving, etc. "god". Religion must be taught in it entirety, all facits included. Many died in the crusades, WWII, Sri Lanka, and so on.

If you are raising a family, educate your children, do not simply "go with the crowd" cause you lack the courage and leadership to do so. The human race is just "smart" enough to destroy itself, however does not always include a diverse understanding of his/her world and its people. Raise your children with a mind of their own, clones are not progressive, history shows that. IMO

Seems to me that formal religion is the basis of most of the violents that has happened throughout history. Maybe more enlightened people will be less religious and more spritual in the future. I understand that more and more people in the USA are turning away from organized religion. JMHO

Eventually it'll come down to either them or us. And by us I mean people who can think for themselves versus those who blindly follow the teachings of the mullahs.

Religion

is certainly not the cause of evil. Religion as practised by followers of the Bible teaches love and respect for our fellow man.

Now when fanatic dictators twist any religion into a method of giving themselves absolute power over their people, then the religion ceases to exist.

Are Jews and their religion the cause of their suffering at the hands of homicide bombers? No, the dictators who rule the Arab countries are.

Our very own Constitution is based upon religious rules of conduct and religious freedom. The fact that there are many who have forsaken religion is more than likely the reason that our society is suffering in so many ways. Religion, after all, asks us to judge ourselves as we would want to be judged by others. That's quite a humbling and spiritual task!

I agree with you Ron. Organized Christianity, and some other organized religions has done an immense amount of good in the world. Have people done evil in the name of Christianity? Of course. Does that mean Christianity is evil? Even the question is ridiculious.

My purpose in posting this was so people could get a feeling for the difference between Mohammed and Jesus's teachings and their lives. I'm sure there are other parts of the Koran which talk about peace, and charity and good works, but IMO the good parts of the Koran are tainted by the Character of Mohammed, who is quite openly shown to be a murderer and worse. Can you imagine Jesus finding out someone had told jokes about him? He would have shrugged it off or laughed. Mohammed had the guy beheaded.

too "narrow", IMO

RRausch,

If your studies and beliefs are sound and loving, more power to you! However, I have met MANY "Christians" who preach that all religions lacking Jesus are bound for he!!. This thinking, IMO, lacks the kindness that is a must in the world. I do not, and will not, get into a debate here on the TDR as nothing good will come of it, but as you study the teachings we speak of you, and I, must remember that others who do no harm to their fellow man and may or may not believe in what you do will be there in heaven to meet us again.

I believe that any good deed will get you ten fold in return, you may not realize it when it happens but it will occur.

Just don't come knocking on my door early on Saturday morning ready to tell me what to believe cause I will, and have, shut you down and leave you in a state of confusion.

I have always gotten a charge of of the mental midgets who denounce the Old Testament for the "proof" of the New Testament... . kind of like cutting your legs off and expecting to stand tall.

God Bless,

Mike

The problem with all of the religions is that people tend to think that their religion is the true religion and think they can read a book and be preached at by the leaders of their church and get all of the answers about how they should act and feel. People tend to limit their growth and stop learning at that point because they close their minds. I have read hundreds of religious/philosophy books and listened to all of the different interpretations of the same "words" by the leaders of different religions. Moral, loving and kind actions do not come from a religion, they come from people that are spritual and are intouch with the world around them and see the cause and effect of their actions. The only truth I know is that I don't know the answers, as I continue to learn. Religion makes some people think that they are "special" because they are human beings, this makes them better than the animals that they care for or hunt. Wrong! We are just at the top of the food chain at this point in history. Because of that we get to make the rules. Someday that may change and we maybe some other entities steak sandwich. From what I have observed most religions are like sports teams, you might respect them but you still want to beat them and show them the error in their way. People like to put things in nice round holes and make everything fit so they can understand. Because if most people don't understand something they fear it and then they attack it, sometimes in the name of religion. Religion helps most people think they understand why they are here, it gives them hope. It also makes them fear/question people that are different and do not believe as they do. I don't think religion is evil. Religion is a catalyst, and should be used as a platform for future questioning and growth, it is not the answer. I would suggest that you who think the Bible or the Koran are the answer, do more reading and observing and keep an open mind. You may learn something that will make your life on earth more exciting and rewarding, or at least you will realize that the more you learn the more you will realize that you don't "know" anything. On the other hand you can just join one of the main stream religions and believe everything they tell you and condemn the people that believe differently then you and we can have another religous war (remember there are always words or people associated with other religions that give you a reason to fear or hate, because they don't believe what you believe). End of Sermon!

AMEN! PB, Your post may have been a tad wordy but you hit it square! We are all special or at least have that potential.

There seems to be a sort of excitment when one "finds" the Lord... . I had no idea he was lost!;)

Mike

P. S. Thanks, but I'll pass on that steak sandwich!

rrausch - thanks for posting the verses. You had to know by now that I was going to ask you to back up your statements in the other thread:D

We are the top of the food chain in all but a few circumstances... . The ocean comes to mind. I wonder if Great White's think we taste like chicken? Might be seal in their case.

'956Wheel, I've met those Christians too, who think everyone who is not a member of their religion is going to the hot place. But the last I checked, they were not chopping the heads off of reporters or crashing loaded passenger jets into skyscrapers.

The purpose of my posting this thread was to inform people to the (IMO) built-in evil in the Muslim religion. How can a religion founded by a mass murderer, adulterer and advocate of sodomy lead someone to heaven?

Call me old-fashioned but I just don't get it.

In contrast, how long has it been since Christians formed a crusade? Over a thousand years I'd say.

NVR FNSH, whaddya think? Am I right or am I right?

PIT, I like the way you think!

For the record I can advise every one of you EXACTLY which is the BEST religion for you. It is the one you were born into. IMO, go back to it.

I'm affraid you are right. I think by the time this thing is over there will be a need for a new crusade. The reason is when you combine poverty, ignorants and the Muslim faith, I think we are seeing that you end up with radicals that want to kill anyone that is not like them. We as a country have some tough decisions ahead.
