Hi there fellas, I bought Mopar mudflaps today and the catalog on show the HD rubber flat type for the duallys. the part # is 82207704(rear) and front82207118 and iwant to return them and get the molded ones for the front and rear but the parts guys says that the only ones available form mopar for the duallys is the flat ones. Is this true? if not does anyone has part#s for the molded ones? I seen some DRW trucks around here with rear molded mudflaps, maybe the dealers are at it again lost as usual. please help my GSAs are going to kill my paint :{
Hmmm... I did a quick search on Dodgeparts.com and they do list a molded mudflap, but it doesn't say if it's for SRW or DRW. You might consider contacting the Dodgeparts.com folks... I've found them very helpful in the past.
I put some mudflaps on mine to day. I have a 03 2500. Igot the Dodge Ram Deluxe Molded Splash Guards. Got from dodge part numbers are 82207914 and 82207915. You might want to look on
Just a word of possible warning. While I was working at a Chrysler dealership I saw many trucks with the molded flaps and they have wore the paint right off. Usually on the edge. My personal 2000 gasser had them on the front/rear and on the edge the paint wore off after about 10k miles. I'f ya get a chance take a peak at one in a parking lot, you can actually lift the edge up slightly. Maybe they have changed the design? These were mopar flaps.
I have the Husky Molded uhhh SPLASH GUARDs. They are the same as the Dodge except they come with 3M Clear Tape to help keep from rubbing off the paint. I added my custom logo.
I also have the molded mud flaps from Husky. Same as Dodge fronts but use the 3M tape as said above, they have been on for 6 months now no problem with paint scuffing.
I have the flat rubber ones on my dually & I love them. They fit nice, do the job very well, and look fine (IMHO & I'm quite picky).
I looked at a lot of trucks with the molded ones (before I bought mine), and they ALL had paint wear. I think the ones that stick on with adhesive would be O. K. , and the 3M tape should do the trick, but I'd still worry about water/sand/salt building-up behind them.
