OK - all of a sudden I have some of these guys - we live in a very rocky area - but they're in the flowre beds... ... a friend told me about an electonic device that he is using that keeps them away - runs on batteries... ... . ideas please... ... .

I was having the same problem with gophers. I went on-line and found those electronic battery operated mold/gopher chasers. Bought three of them and planted them around my shop/shed area. Seems to have worked since I haven't had any more problems that I can tell.

Check out www.getridofgophers.com .

Again, I don't know if they work or if I wasted a little money, but I've not had any more mole/gopher holes appearing in my yard since I planted these things.

I have not used the electronic methods so cant speak to those. I have had issues with mole like creatures (think they call them voles) the seem to love my yard. Never have been able to figure out how I get them and my neighbors dont. In any case I have used a product called poison peanuts that I just sprinkle in various places along their trail such as at intersections or if I can find the main track place a few small piles in it. They have worked well for me. One application seems to do it.

I had Voles this spring, the gardin shop lady said they are eating the grubbs that are in my yard. She said the best bet is to spread this stuff to kill the grubbs and the voles will go away. But she did have these neat bombs you light and stick into the hole!

Well... ... ... I usually cut em off with a knife and eat em. :-laf

PS it works with warts too!

Use a tactical nuke!!! OR,, get rid of the food they are after. Grubs, worms and other below ground critters is what they are after. If they are gone the moles will move on to the next good food source.

Ahhhhh come on now! Grandpa has been de-mole-ing his hard by pouring a bottle of hot sauce ontop of a fresh mound (where they come thru the sod)

Usually they injest the sauce and then cant get rid of the gas. they will come out of the hole and not go far... May be inhumane but it works

I want to try that! Because of them my back yard turns into a mud pit everytime I water it #@$%!

Alka-Seltzer in bread works great on pesky birds too...

1 get a cat

or 2 place pieces of bubble gum, still in the wrapper in their holes. Use rubber gloves so they can't smell you on the gum. They can't digest the gum and die in their hole.

A tank of propane and a rubber hose, stick the hose in one hole as far as possible, and cover up with dirt, also cover any other holes you see. Crank the propane on for a few minutes...

And light that firecracker you buried in one of the holes.

Caddyshack anyone?
