OK, not really about the disowning. .
I DID get a chance to drive her truck, an F-350 PSD (7. 3) CrewCab 4x2 with 8ft bed, and here's what I noticed:
The Ford rides amazingly well. Must be that crazy long wheelbase, but it's a lot smoother than my truck. She has the full-boogie leather seats, and they are comfortable, but the feel like you are sitting on a curved padded 2x4-- they are narrow and offer little lateral support.
Trans seems to shift very well (auto) and it's prob better than the 47RE as far as smothness (but that's not saying much).
Engine seems to have adequate power, but just doesn't feel like the CTD-- it doesn't shake the whole truck when it's shutting down. It revs quicker cuz of the 8 cyl design.
It felt very carlike- smooth, quiet, and all that. Perfect for her soft 50+ yr old derriere.
I love my Dodge, and won't convert any time soon, but I think that it is a little too intense for someone in her situation.
