Anybody see that episode where they made that cycle out of the big rig engine?

Yes, I did see that episode on Monday night.



I'm going to build one. Not sure when... but I will have one.

I saw part of it. He did a wheelie when testing but not when he raced the Peterbilt. Was that a Cat engine? bg

It was a 14 liter Cummins of some sort.



I'm no good at identifying the finite models of bigger engines... some are easier than others.



NTC? BigCam? I don't know... . it had a mechanical pump... that I know for sure.



I think the other thread(s) on this subject had the exact model engine it has...

I knew it had to be a lower HP model... the lack of an intercooler was blatantly obvious.

I still have not been able to tell if they had an air cleaner of any kind. All the pics I have seen don't really show that area.



It would be fun to build a little one... with a suspension and a 24v motor... and wheelie bars

In one of the scenes they had a wire mesh screen over ther inlet of the turbo, looked like it would stop anything larger than a quarter. bg

I could have sworn that it had one of those ricer air cleaners on it - they aren't much more than a piece of 3M ScotchBrite and some chicken wire.

How did they deal with the trans? Didn't seem like too much shifting going on there. Didn't see any roadranger switch. Or maybe they just used the bottom 5 gears?
