Happy Birthday Lurch!

Dodge-1 Deer-0

So who watched Monster garage last night on Discovery Channel?

It wasn't too bad, there wasn't much use for the vehicles once they were finished, but it was fun to watch a bunch of gear heads and fabricators turn an everyday machine into a monster machine... . for those of you who don't know what it is...

Monster garage is a new show sorta like junk yard wars, hosted by Jesse James (custom chopper builder, direct decendent of Jesse James) who builds totally awesome custom choppers from scratch... the idea is to take a vehicle, $3k, and 7 days to convert the vehicle into something else, i. e. last night they turned a Ford Exploder into a trash truck with a a roof that lifted, hydraulic arm that grabbed the trash can and a hopper that compacted the trash, and they turned a limo into an operational fire truck with a water cannon and two external hoses, etc... .

like I said, once they were complete, the vehicles were not much good for much other than a custom freak mobile, but it was fun to watch 'em work... .

I stayed up late just to watch it.

That is one show I can really get into. Turning a Limo into a fire truck would be pretty cool.

BUT, the first time they turn a CTD Dodge into anything else, I might get a little upset. :)

yeah, either tonight or tommorrow they are going to turn a new VW bug into a swamp buggy,,,,,,,,,,, that should be fun...

I stayed up to watch too..... that limo would be fun. Tonight is the Mustang Lawn mower and VW Bun swamp buggy/boat. Outght to be a blast. .

I watched and enjoyed but was a little upset with the lack safety exercised by some of the guys especially when I knew the program would appeal to kids. There were several shots of guys grinding without safety glasses but what got me the most was the big guy "Tink" running a lathe with his beard dragging right on the piece he was cutting. I sort of wished it would have caught and reeled his head in just to demonstrate his stupidity.

even on junkyard wars they are not that tight on the safety stuff. in the rerun last night there was a guy stick welding who was squinting to see what he was doing. not wearing a welding mask. that is real dumb. .

Have you guys seen Jesse's white flamed Dodge 3500 that he uses to haul his bikes around? It is really out of sight.

pretty cool show- anyone know the scoop on Jesse- I read somewhere he was in jail ???

Anyone watch Motorcycle Mania 2 with that nut Indian Larry standing on the seat while cruising down the highway??

I hadn't heard that... ... and yeah that guy was a nut, kicking back with his feet propped up on the handle bars :--) ... ... . I taped that show, Jesse makes some awesome choppers, I would love to have one, even though I don't really ride, i would learn so I could ride one of those... .

I just wish they would base the show around building monster rods, like the process involved with slamming a Merc and turning iinto a lead sled, or any other custom rods. With the huge icons he has on the show they could build some freaking trick rides...

I've been watching it too. I did notice the lack of safety, but I figgered this is probibally just the way they really operate.

I heard that Jesse was in jail too. Also heard that he was getting a divorce. Too bad, his wife was pretty hot. I'd like to see her on the show.

: Any one know anything about the alleged drug bust?

After an extensive search of several newspapers including the Long Beach newspaper. No article could be found in relation to your comment. Personally, I think it's just a bunch of BS.

It was on Sunday and Monday, I'm sure they will run some more re-runs of them, and they are suppose to start up a series in the fall.....
