I have a huge Powerstroke intercooler, that I can cut five tubes off the top, and four off the bottom and make fit. The inlet/outlet tubes are monsters, 3" I think. It's MUCH thicker than the Dodge intercooler. Would any performance gain be worth the effort?

ya whats the deal, who makes an intercooler for our trucks? I e-mailed several companies with no responce. I've seen some peoples signatures with aftermarket intercoolers, whats the deal?

FWIW I had the same concerns when wanting to get the boost up on mine. Without and intercooler the intake air will get very hot at boosts over 25 PSI. At 30 Psi we calculated about 270 F intake air #ad

If you are going to turn up the power on that 89, the intercooler is the only way to get the 245 HP without melting your pistons.

PS. . An idea is to get an intercooler from a wrecked 91 or 92 and plumb it in. It should be cheeper than the BANK$.

Thanks Mike, but I still comsider your cooler a temporary (how long is temporary?) step. I WANT eventually to modify that big pherd cooler to work!

OK; how'd the 91-93's get the AC condensor out far enough to clear the intercooler? Did they use a different condensor, or a spacer block between the AV manifold and the condensor?
