Either way Darren smith is running the same setup Vp44 do you think hes pushing 500HP ? Lot different on the track than ******* on rollers

I feel ya Rodney... . Darren Whipped *** at Indy, but since I only have the dyno #'s to compare with, that is the measuring stick I am using.

i dont even have one of these VP's and i dynoed 519, and i think my truck runs better and pulls harder than 519.

on the highway from a roll i've beaten some mid 12 second cars...

Well I thought I would have my truck set up to dyno and pull this weekend at the J&H event, but things are not looking good--first off the truck won't be set up with my twins, so that leaves me with my titanium B1 steroid as a single--which I'm not feeling confident about as a single to move enough air to show the potential of a stage 2 pump, but that's not all, I was hoping to slap in a looser convertor today, but that's not going to happen either since I have to be here working today and probably tomorrow and I'm hoping not Saturday, so 3 sets of problems off the bat and I don't even have that B1 here it's over at Winspeed's shop, so I need to figure out how to go and get it and then get home spend another hour or so to finish the truck and get it started to make sure I put it back together correctly and that it will run----then maybe put the steroid B1 on and jury rig the down pipe---and then pack for tomorrow----just found out I don't have to be here Saturday, so we should have some dyno #'s if all goes well on the other fronts, but again I'm not feeling to confident that it will show much, but maybe we get lucky and it will, I hope so----chris

Sorry Tim you just sounded like all the rest of the idiots trying to discredit something that works on the pulling track but doesnt work on your beloved dyno :-laf

Forgive me.

I will not. You have forever hurt my feelings :-laf Actually I did see a 24v trap 119 with one on fuel only, but I dunno much about the rest of his setup.

Chris,

Hey bud get the truck together with the steroid B1 and use the nitrous. I was able to make over 830 RWHP with a standard VP, steroid B1 and some squeeze.

Give me a call and I tell you jetting sizes, etc. I used. Hope to get out your way again soon so hopefully we can hookup again!

Doug

Justin,

I too would like to see some dyno numbers from one of these pumps. I am talking about back to back runs, same dyno, same day. A truck is needed that can support the reported HP potential claims so we can see what it does or doesn't do.

The problem with saying this guy does well on the track and using a dyno is the not a good tool for measurement of HP leaves way too many variables. The driver, setup, track conditions, etc all come into play. What the track does is show that "his setup" worked well that day or days. A dyno on the other hand takes variables out of the equation. By doing the testing same day, same dyno, same truck, we have a good set of constants to actually quantify gains and losses. This can be HP/TQ earlier or latter in the rpm range as well as peak numbers. The dyno is a great tool for gather data under a given set of conditions, this just cannot be done on the track. Is it the perfect tool for determing what will work best is somebodys truck, no... . But it is one of the only tools we have to determine actual improvement to an engines HP/TQ.

Jetpilot--I may call--right now the steroid is sitting in the garage--I didn't have time to get it on and I'm not feeling to ambitious to get it on and to tell you the truth I'm whooped, but maybe depending on what time I leave today I may do it---I really wanted to have a good set up for the pump swaps--because I have it set up to dyno pull off and swap in a stage 2---but now I'm not sure because I'm 2 days behind----chris

definitely let me know when you're back in town----chris

I'll play devil's advocate here.

This truck obviously had a large single and big injectors, so what is so ground shaking about 5 bills without electronics? That would put this truck at roughly 620ish with the fuel box on(assuming it makes 120 with the bigVP) which is nothing new.

also in a role of devil's advocate. My old OG comp box makes 180hp so that is a big number on fuel and air alone I would think.

It is involved, because I did it this weekend---I had it all lined up to dyno the HRVP and then swap in a stage 2 from Dave's Diesel, but first off I didn't have time to get the steroid B1 on and then on Friday I find out my REDLINE is toast---so all I could do was dyno with the HRVP, 7x25 injectors and my old B1---366hp with all the smoke one can imagine--so off the dyno and swapped in the stage 2, but only to find out it's not a good pump--the number bore doesn't produce enough pressure to pop off the injector--even swapped an injector to make sure it wasn't the injector, but it was the pump so we had to put the HRVP back in----so it sucked and I'm not to happy about it----chris

Anybody else getting these pumps? After having one that blew gallons of fuel in the oil and getting a replacement that wouldn't agree with my confused '99 computer, I put a factory replacement on today. Stock pumps lack in a BIG way! At least I can drive it again. Anybody having better success than me with 'em?
