I was looking around for the best price on a new 2003 track bar to use with the Solid steel retrofit kit. While checking with my auto parts buddy for a price, he told me about a track bar for our trucks that MOOG has that has oversized ball joints and has a life time guarantee. The price he gave me on one is $169 which seems pretty good. Does anyone have any experience with these? He also did say that MOOG makes a couple of different bars and they do make a "stock" bar that has no guarantee. This has me wonderin if I want to spend $350 on a 03 bar and solid steel kit.

I just had my left side ball joints replaced under warranty, which is all I expected them to replace but to my amazement they replace the track bar too. of course it was with a factory replacement but it will get me by for now, I plan on putting a thuren bar on. I have seen others post about the moog bar and they have had to replace them too but when it came time for replacement that the replacement was covered under moogs warranty so I would say go for it.

I replaced my track bar with a Moog one, the stock one I got 80k out of the Moog one only has 50K and it is loose. The other down side is that you "could" Lukes Link the stock track bar for a good fix but, the Moog bar even thou it has a life time warrenty has a bigger ball joint end that the Lukes Link will not fit over. I am pretty sure I will Lukes Link my stock track bar and just adjust it as needed.

I am not sure if I would do the 03 &up track bar fix just do to money but it should be the end all fix if that is what you are looking for.

I am on my third Moog When I figure what I want to do with the system I will take my Moog in trade it for a new one and sell it cheap!

My experience with moog track bars is that they aren't that good. Yes they do have lifetime warrenty, but you better be ready to change them all the time. starts to be a pain in the butt. I had one installed on mine, and it was really bad in three months, probably less then 10,000 miles on it. I had it done at firestone when they did the balljoints. well i took it back and they said it was on national backorder, so they put an ac delco on it. I dont know the details, but they told me the ball joint was a different design, but it had been working well for almost a year now with very little wear in it. To do again, i would of went with the 03 bar and bracket, but if you dont plan on keeping your truck for a long time, then you might be better off with a moog and changing it every 3 to 6 months. Hope this helps!!
