What's the deal, I guess there's a hold on them. I've been waiting to order a new truck for 3 weeks now. Does anyone have any idea when they are going to be available.

I'd order the truck, and go to a Ziebart Tidy Car and have them install a 3rd party sunroof. The aftermarket sun roofs seem to go longer without leaking, and there are more than a few good options in size and function.

All I can add is that EVERY sun/moon roof Ive ever owned has leaked and whistled! IMOP, roll your window down and save your $$$. . Just not worth it to me.

Dodge "dealer" website says At least mid-december before HD and SRT rams are built with sunroofs, bummer

I got lucky in that I ordered my truck early before the sunfroof "freeze" happened. I'm guessing that when they fixed the sunroof design or filled their backorders or whatever was holding it up, they fixed the already ordered trucks before taking orders for new ones. Either that, or I got the pre-change sunroof and it just took them forever to do it.

As jeepdude stated, he was built before the hold... and now they will not accept any NEW orders will sunroof



I do have one by the way, it snuck through like jeepdudes truck...

Here at the local Anchorage dealer, there are a BUNCH of 05 HD's w/moon-roofs on the lot. Hemi's and Cummins alike.

A little to far, does anyone know what problems they're haveing with the roofs?

The 1st truck I ordered back in August was put on hold due to the sunroof, re-ordered without the sunroof. Truck with the sunroof still has not come into the dealership. Last I checked, DC said truck would "probably" be built sometime in November. Haven't really followed the sunroof truck, because I decided to for-go the sunroof. Really never liked the sunroof in our Honda, wind noise and sun beating down on your head, usually drove it with the sunshade closed, so it was no big deal to me, my wife wanted it.



FYI - For those thinking of going aftermarket, if your truck has side airbags, I remember reading somewhere that you cannot or should not add an aftermarket sunroof.
