According to STAR, the Factory fill oils are made by ExxonMobil or Imperial Oil. The service fill (dealer installed) is made only by ExxonMobil.

Did they change in last couple of years. I was told by Star that only Valvoline was used? That was 4 years ago. :-{}

I worked in a D. C. dealer(service adviser)for four years. Was told Valvoline was ALL D. C. used and contracted with. Mobil was a G. M. deal etc.

I should have added, that is for 2003-2004 years. Perhaps they changed in 03. With the way all the manufacturers are squeezing their suppliers to reduce costs, they might have found a better deal.

Well, who knows about the dodge engines, but the Cummins engines used Valvolene premiom blue. Pretty easy to figure out since it is the one with a Cummins logo on the bottle.

I spoke to cummins about oil recomendations and they told me they do not recommend any oil other than the valvoline prieum blue which is a synthetic but only after 20000 miles on the engine. rotella,delo, dodge ( valvoline dino oil) were all fine and meet their specs
