Does anyone know the difference between these two types of Mopar diesel fuel additive ? ) This one is listed in several of the TDR magazines as a recomendation (95191800AA)the other (0513478AA).

Input appreciated.

In several articles in the TDR magazine problems with fouling injectors the following adatives have been recommended.

Cummins fuel conditioner. Made by Valvoline Sold at Geno's.

Racor ADT 1116. Sold at Geno's.

Stanadyne Junior.

Mopar 95191800AA. made by Wynns.

These additives are not to contain alcohol.

Wow. This horse has been beaten a lot lately but what the heck... I use Stanadyne Performance Formula. Contains no alcohol.

Can you give me more Info. on where I may find the PS & MMo products you mentioned and who make it ?

Power Service-Grey bottle in summer,White bottle in winter if you live in snow country. Marvel Mystery oil. I get both at Walley World and mix 16 ozs PS with 8 ozs MMO to a 30 gallon fill up. Lots here will say I am wasting my money but the few times I have missed adding I feel the difference and my injectors and lift pump are original and trouble free. :)

I use John Deere summer/winter fuel conditioner and have been doing so for years. For what it is worth, both the JD and the Stanadyne both smell the same, so could they be one in the same? Both are same color as well. :)

Starting issues

Interestingly, my '03 is just now getting very hard to start. I took it to the dealer (it's still under extended warranty, but barely) and they installed a fuel pump in the fuel tank. Said that would fix the problem. It didn't. In fact, it's worse. I almost ran the battery down today, but let the truck sit 10 minutes and it finally cranked off. It's only been doing this for the last 2-3 months, but it's getting worse. Otherwise, the truck runs fine with 95,000 miles on it.

You may refer to TDR issue # 59 page 38. Article on FAC Fuel control actuator. There has been a lot of input on hard starting , rough ideling and engine stunbling.

Thanks for the response. Since I posted that the dealer capped off and found the 1 & 2 injector leaking back. Both were replaced under the extended warranty with "new reman" injectors and that seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks again.
